hey all
just come back to the game after a longish break. dusted off the old farming specs and playing around in UW yet again.
clearing the attax's, graspings and skeles easily enough however im having huge issues with the smites. iv seen a few vid guides and read here and there that sos's can kill them but my spirits are failling pretty hard at it.
Wondering if theres a spirit cast order problem or perhaps a build issue, even if this simply isnt possible anymore due to a patch then fair enough but id really like to sort this out.
heres my current build: OACkAmhpYSi01kPY5030ZD00mY1E
Thanks for any help
Sos UW solo smites issue

The spirits need to be spread out. Don't use shadowsong or painful bond on the smites. If you still have trouble, take out spiritleech or armor of unfeeling and add disenchantment.
Maya Cerestiez
skip smites, less drop rate than aatxes and skellies. resing after chamber. highest ecto/hour

Yeah, the main issue with the smites are you don't want to hex them or hit them with the blindness from shadowsong. Also, a lot of their damage is AoE, so you want to spread your spirits apart. Just hang about and aggro bubble away and walk up and renew your spirits as they recharge. It takes a few rounds of spirits to clear a group.
Honestly, with the seven hero update, I think it's more effective to take a full group and fight your way to the Chaos Planes and farm the Mindblade Spectres. (flagging the heros out of range).

Do Mindblades, ignore Smites, they drop less and can be a pain.

I don't do those anymore, simple because they are too hard and don't drop enough. However, if you really want to kill them for any reason, it it possible. I myself use this: OACjAuiMpRlT+gfTXTnNQTDgVTA. Just spam the spirits a few steps away from eachother, and as mentioned above, shadowsong is a waste of energy. However, I do use Painful bond, just cast it as it recharges and it will help. When you see your spirits starting to die, so will the smites. Re-spam your spirits and go over again. If they still aren't dead, repeat. Don't take on multiple mobs. Hope it helped.

So can you answer a few "noobish" questions from someone who hasn't farmed UW much (I use rit too).
Which areas are farmer friendly and which just aren't worth it?
Plus after the chamber I went over the mountains and did pretty good but the charged blacknesses are pretty tough since they stay aggro'd on whoever first attacked them, meaning you can't pull. Anyone have a fav strategy for them?

The mountains are not worth farming because the the Behemoths don't drop ecto. I normally just take a full team and run to the Plains mostly ignoring everything in the mountains.

cheers for the info guys, guess ill save my time and skip em.
As for the chaos planes getting to them can be easy enough, i ran it a few times with a team before i went on my break. from memory though they spawn 3 > 6 > 9 mobs per group. not really confident that the spirits could take on that many at once or do they actually handle it fine with me respawning as they fall?

I did a run last night for kicks (only one lousy ecto... ....).

The Mindblades have hex breakers, so you don't bother with Painful Bond. They also cast Ignorance on you which won't let you cast your SoS, so be sure you get your spirits up out of their range. Once they have engaged your spirits, you can walk right up to them and drop Destruction right in their face. Now and then they will notice you and cast some nasty degeneration on you, if that happens run like hell out of their aggro and wait for it to go away, if you are about to die you might pull off a superior rune (I run both superior communing and channeling). Worst case if I screw up and die, I can call in my heroes to rez me.
Sometimes the 3-6-9 spawns will happen right on top of you, be ready to run like hell so you don't get trapped in a bad spot.
I cleared the bone pits and that area with a billion dryders but didn't get squat there either.
