Introduction
Hi guys here is a build I made and I been vanquishing with it, and it is amazing. When I play with it in HM, things die in seconds. It just makes everything too easy. Here is the build:
Profession: Assassin/Warrior
Build Code:
Code:
Optional Hero Build:
The skills are Splinter Weapon and Strength of Honor. This makes this build much more powerful.
Attributes
Critical Strikes: 12 + 1 + 3 (+4 is optional, 12 would be fine if you don't want to give up health)
Swordsmanship: 12
Guide
With SoH enchanted on you and maybe Splinter Weapon, cast 5,6,7,8. Then use Death's Charge and shadow step to the desired enemy. Then the group of enemies should attack you. Activate and use 2,3,4. Keep repeating until dead. Usually melee foes will ball around you, spellcasters won't. It may also be good to have protection's on you before shadow stepping. Things should die in seconds.
Optional Skills
1. Death's Charge - You can swap for something like Asuran Scan if you are having trouble with blind and hexes.
2. Critical Eye - You can swap for something like a PVE-only skill or Critical Defenses. Energy management may be harder. Or Save Yourselves.
Counters
1. Anti-Melee hexes (To prevent: Put hex removal on heroes.)
2. Blind and Weakness (To prevent: Put condition removal on heroes.)
3. Anti-Adrenaline hexes (To prevent: Put hex removal on heroes. If it is a spirit, destroy it first.)
Pros
1. Kills things very fast.
2. Does large amounts of DPS.
3. Great AoE damage.
4. Energy friendly.
5. Hundred Blades cannot be stripped.
6. Critical Eye cannot be stripped.
Cons
1. You might die quickly without a protection hero due to shadow stepping. Make sure your prot hero is nearby.
2. Skills such as Empathy can make you take tons of damage due to the AoE hitting and double attack.
Equipment
Sword:
1. Any requirement at r12 and below.
2. 15^50 is a good inscription.
3. The other parts are up to you.
Shield:
1. Since you occopy 2 attributes, you cannot find a shield with the 2 ATT's. You will have to accept the +8 armor boost but hey... it helps a lot.
2. I put +30hp on mine... it's up to you.
Armor:
1. It's really up to you. This build does not drain a lot of energy so you can put +armor and hp runes.
Ending
I hope everyone enjoys the build. If you want to rate it or comment on it, reply to this thread.
Thanks everyone

Swords can't double attack.
If you're running /W, why's there no SY ?
This is a really really really old tactic. You just put everything from a generic HB Warrior on a assassin primary and didn't bother to bring Mark of Pain. This could work if you don't have a dervish or warrior.
See...100000 Manly Spikes builds.

Maybe i'm the type of person who likes to try something different. I been running the old DB spam for years now and now trying versatility secondary classes. For instance, I can run SY, DB spam, A/R Barrage, and A/W 100b. Also I like to have many different weapons such as a sword and shield. People don't realize that assassins are great for their versatility as well. The fools never take advantage of it.
A/W isn't going to be the most effective. W/ is going to be. It's just I am playing with my sin right now and trying different professions. It's fun so far.

Your sword build has no KD or party wide buffs, your build is entirely DPS, no utility whatsoever. You're a melee, it comes down to DPS. Daggers are better.
You can run A/R and get a few crits on barrage? Cool, my dagger sin pumps out more.
You can run disrupting accuracy for continuous interrupts on one enemy, cool, my mesmer can pump out continuous AoE rupts.
Just because you can do everything doesn't mean you should do everything.

Ok Dont Panic
Ok, your taking an old concept of a sin with high critical rate and another old concept of throwing splinter weapon and SoH on a hero to buff the output.
What I think everyone is a little confused about is yes, this build is pretty much a repeat of other melee sin builds. Sins use 100b in fow all the time. Discord hero bars have variants to take SoH if your running a melee proffession and discord usually carries splinter on it anyway so essentially all I'm seeing with this build is a stripped down basic concept of the Assasin melee member of the team, essentially with a bonder.
What's the point in the bar, Sins have the +4pips so there is less energy issues that warrior's can face which is a plus, but even the crit on a sin doesn't add that much of a bonus as i've said. I have read what you have said and yes you are saying a Sin can do a Warrior bar effectively. But so what? What's going to make me want to try this bar on my sin to any other 100b bars that I can find for sins? There is a bit of healing in there and a high chance to block but as a sin (What I've found a huge downside to melee chars that depend on enchants) If you meet a mesmer with enchant removal your going to die. All the sins defense is in the enchantments to block. Your actually going to be in a mob more than a few seconds and if your going after the melee first, the casters have loads of time to cast on you, all the things on you can suddenly hit you and your health is going to start to drop. Sins, without shadow form, are not tanks. They have 70 armor and depend on enchants to keep them alive. As soon as those enchantments are taken away your going to start taking a lot of damage quickly.
You are really going to start struggling against things that have higher armor unless your taking barbs and MoP (or there are other damage dealers with armor ignoring damage such as SS or Discord). Yes the Sins crit rate makes the damage a little higher but overall even a warrior using 100b isn't the highest damage output. I know you've added splinter to it but Splinter doesn't hit everything.
I mean it is probably a good build for a sin (as a non primary build goes). But I don't understand what it is that is a) new about the build b) would make me want to play it when all I have to go on is 1 hero and a build. I'm not told what armor is recommended as you say it's up to us? Well what do you use? Do you find having a lot of hp works for you?
Your running an adrenaline bar so wouldn't a furious mod be beneficial on the sword? Or is the build actually being run on a zealous sword? If you want slightly more dps I could take a vampiric weapon, would that be useful or are you confident that the spiking power is enough to take down each group? Are you taking a lot of damage? If you are should I be runing my armor for each occasion? Should I have (As is good for the sin they have all physical armor runes) 4 sets of armor for each? Or is one good enough? Should I have blessed armor as I'm enchanted? Do I need lots of hp if I'm going to be taking a lot of damage and know hero's can be slow on the healing. If I'm taking so much damage would a defense mod be useful on the sword? Or should I take hp?
There are a lot of unanswered questions I have raised and I know you said it's up to us but even telling us what you are running might give us more of a clue. This is only the backbone of the build there is so much more in my opinion that you should have added. At this point I don't see what this build is. I see some skills and some sort of advice on what to take. But not what you are using.
I totally agree with IronSheik, yes a Sin is very versatile. It can run A/R A/W A/D A/P and others quite well but ultimately your just pumping out the same things that is already out there in not nearly enough detail for anyone to start using this bar. You haven't said where you have been Vanquishing, it might have actually been easy in one area agaisnt low armor foes but in another area with high armor people start having difficulty.
If you take FoWSc 100bs for an example, the majority of the damage isn't done from 100b or splinter weapon. It comes primarily from Mark of Pain, armor ignoring damage. Your build has elements of the same build but lacks the key ingredient.

The so called versatility is also inferior. I'd take a Wota sin over any damage dealing sin, because it does more damage. It's fine to run builds because your bored, people do that all the time. I put 5 minion masters on my team and do froggy runs for giggles, it's really funny adding a mesmer to spam Death Nova for an army of suicidal bombers. Typically you want to post something that's stronger, not fun. Why? People make their own fun. We know sins are versatile. We know that ele's, necros, warriors, rang-lol, rits and even paragons and so on are versatile. Chthon
Inferior to DB sins. Inferior to 100B warriors. Just not a good build any way you cut it.
Luminarus
SoH + Splinter + WWA + 100B = Win, nothing new here. Oh wait its a sin primary, meh big deal. WTB MoP for quicker pwnage.
GrimmNinja
Yeh this build is decent, I myself have used a variant of this to do SoO HM easily after watching the EFGJack video. Sometimes is fun not to use daggers, yeah yeah jb,ff,db is better for dmg but that doesn't mean you must stick rigidly to this. The game is about fun. Its not a maths challenge to get the highest numbers 100percent of the time...
Oh yeah and a micro'd MoP like everyone has said is great SecUnder

Any dagger spam assassin will out damage this build, so your entire reason to post this build is useless. If you started off with, "Hi guys, I was drunk last night, and wanted to show off something that I was fooling around with just for fun..." then you wouldn't be the recipient of all this hate. Or at least a little less. Trying to defend your build with the "versatility" argument is pointless. The assassin is versatile, but not when it comes to damage output. You can be a tank with SF, you can run an AP caller. Those are versatility. Exchanging higher amounts of damage for lesser amounts of damage is not how you argue versatility. My machete can chop crap up, but I'm going to show the versatility of it by launching it with a slingshot! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSU1jQoGIqo Gabs88
Would probably be better with Way of the master and Vow of Strength \ Scythe build due to extra benefit from critical strikes and more easily being able to charge adrenaline along with more VoS proccs in general combat due to multiple hits all the time.
Energy management would be easy anyhow for a sin. CrimpyRex SecUnder
