So as you guessed it summer is almost upon us and I would like to know how to keep out the reflection of myself (glare) from my laptop while under the sun? Any suggestions?

If you're a bit crazy, buy a matte lcd panel that is compatible with your laptop and replace the glossy one with it or have a pro do it. I would do it myself if i were in your position but then again i know how to take my laptop apart without destroying it.

Due to the way in which laptop displays work, there's not only the glare problem, but also the lack of contrast in bright sunlight. The reflection can be reduced by using anti-glare film - but you need to be really careful when installing it because air bubbles can be a problem. The contrast can be helped by providing some shade around the display - this can be done with a DIY cardboard device which can fold flat for carrying.
