HI All,
I've just picked up the Trilogy pack and started playing Guild Wars for a bit of R&R. Now I've played about a bit in both Prophecies and Nightfall but haven't got too far in either having a level 6 Necromancer in both.
Now I was looking into starting a Warrior and upon browsing this website I noticed it mentioned that many people create a character and learn all the skills in Prophecies, before moving on to the other campaigns.
Is this generally advised or does it not matter too much where I create the character?
A Question on Which Campaign & Skills

Doesn't matter too much. Before you know it all campaigns will be easily accessible. If you're just looking to have fun and play the game through, you might as well just go in order of the releases. Prophecies, then Factions, then Nightfall, finishing off with EotN. I don't know if it's the best way to go at it, but it's one way .

Chronologically the story goes Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall/EotN but you can start in any campaign and once you reach the port city you can travel between the stories.
For your first trip through, most would probably recommend you go the traditional route though there are advantages to going through the other campaigns such as acquiring heroes/skills from other areas.
There's no hard and fast rules to the way you run it though there may be some spoilers by not doing them in order.

Also, after reaching a point, (consulate docks in NF LA in proph kaining center in factions) you will gain access to the other continents. I would not really recommend playing 2 necromancers on your account, just use one char to play through all the games.

As mentioned, there's no particular reason to have started 2 Necros. Soon enough, you'll get to Lion's Arch (Prophecies) or Consulate Docks (Nightfall) or Kaineng Center (Factions) and you'll be able to travel freely between the campaigns.
As far as learning all skills in Prophecies goes, no, that is not the way most people go. First of all, there is not any particular need to learn skills you're never going to use, especially when they cost 1k a piece. Get all the skills you can from quests and all the other skills you think you may want, but don't worry about getting all of them. (You can always get them later).
A common "path" through the game these days is to start in whatever campaign suits your fancy, or your aesthetics, and then travel to Nightfall (if that's not the starter) to get some Heroes, and at some point to travel to EotN for more Heroes, PvE-only skills, and the latest content. And, you'll want to finish Prophecies and/or EotN to get into War In Kryta and other new content.

I think he was referring to how easy it is to get skills in Prophecies, because you get them for free from quests.

Thanks for all the responces guys, I only started two necromancers to get the feel of the settings more than anything else. I'll have a play about in the two campaigns and see which I prefer to have a proper crack at!

Keep in mind that some skills can only be found in certain chapters so you may wish to push forward and unlock as many skills, and capture all the Elite skills, you can.
Once you have all the skills unlocked, and a single character can unlock every skill by changing their secondary profession, you will have access to them on your heros and be able to learn them on new characters by using a Tome/Elite Tome.
