I'm going thru factions again, but actually watching the cutscenes and I noticed that the music is quite good. But I can not figure out why I do not recognize the music. I have the collectors edition factions soundtrack and heard some of the bonus music on youtube, but I do not recognize the songs.
Could there be music in the game that was not on the official soundtrack? If that is the case was their ever an audio rip of the factions game?
I started hearing music I didn't recognize in the beginning, but I just reached vizunah square and saw the first fortune teller / shiro cutscene and I most definitely did not recognize the music. Am I just crazy and these songs are on the osts, or are there some random rips floating around the net?
I would really appreciate any help with my problem.
Edit:
Here is the cutscene I mentioned, it starts around 0:58

Also I didn't recognize the music in the cutscene where you first reach the luxon side, explaining you have to fight for the spear and kill zhu.
Is this stuff really on the ost?

Heya, I also own the offical soundtrack and yes there are some tracks not on there. Somewhere in your CE box there should be a 'bonus music key' which you can use to download additional music tracks not included on the OST (though not sure if you still can as i've not tried myself!)

Thanks for the reply. I tried to download the additional music from direct song, but I'm pretty sure it didn't work. I'll try it again tho.
I got my limited edition factions box from a guru thread about a year or two ago, so it was already pretty old when I first got it. But it wouldn't hurt to try it again.
Well now my question is, was there ever a audio game rip of factions? I'll bump for info on the game rip, feel free to PM me if you have info.
Edit:
Nope, directsound does not have the additional music I'm looking for

This only has the additional music that can be found on youtube. I'm still looking for that elusive music...

According to information posted by Gaile Gray, some of the music used in the cinematics are exclusive to them and not officially available under DirectSong (or other music format that I know of).
You will likely need to use a gw.dat browser to extract (for personal use of course) the music file(s) you're looking for.
See Posts #526 through #532 in the old thread "post what you found in gwdat!" details a discussion about Robert Ridihalgh (of Omni Interactive Audio) and extracting the music used in the game.

I have listened to every track on both the original and CE soundtrack for Factions and could not locate the exact music you are looking for, though bits & pieces come close (e.g. Kurzick Theme, Kaineng City and Plagued Land, etc).
