Hello!
So I decided that while I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2 to be released, I'm going to try and complete all three of the guild wars campaigns and also Eye of the North but I'm not sure where to start. I just wanted to get some opinions on which campaign out of Prophecies, Factions and Night Fall people think would be the most fun to start from scratch with and then work your way through the other campaigns.

Thanks guys!

If you want to play the campaigns chronologically then it would be: prophecies-> factions -> nightfall

But imo that has some disadvantages:
- Prophecies is kinda slow
- Even when you become L20 "fast" the 2 attribute quests are very late in the game (without them you will have 170 attribute points instead of 200). This part is much faster in Factions and Nightfall
- Prophecies is a bit low on real players and doesnt have heroes other than MOX, so you will propbably have to play a lot with henchmen (which are usually not so good as heroes)
- Getting decent weapons in Prophecies and factions is also harder than in Nightfall, although Factions has decent collectors (who can give you weapons for certain drops)
- Starting in Factions has some pro's: fastest leveling and fastest completion (Factions is shortest campaign)
- Starting in Nightfall has some pro's: heroes and inscripable weapons, but heroes needs skills too (which can be a con for new players, because that can be pricy, although those skills only need to be unlocked once per account)

Ok, to do this the fastest way, you need to buy the skill unlock packs which will unlock all skills for use on your heroes. Yeah, it's expensive, but it's worth it in terms of how much extra time you'll spend doing crap instead of just rolling through it, if you don't have them.

There are advantages to starting in NF, but the starter island takes an absolute age because the quests just go on and on and on. Plus your heroes are gimped by low levels. So start in Factions and do the quests, they're worth the effort. Once you get off the Canthan starter island, jump to EoTN and grab the heroes, then to NF and do the same. At this point you'll have a reasonable hero team, but not great, so do the early quests to get the extra heroes (olias, zenmai etc.).

Then I'd say go to NF and complete that first, because you get extra heroes including Norgu (mesmer) and Razah (changeable), the henches aren't terribad. At this point you should cut back to EoTN and get the later heroes (Livia etc.). Once you've got a decent hero team, take your pick, really. In fairness, you can pick anywhere after you've got the early extra heroes, I just pick NF because the heroes you get make the other campaigns even easier.

There are lots of threads about this in Guru already. Just read through them. They are filled with invaluable information. A lot more than you can get simply by opening another.

Although you can get to all the props (high level armour, heroes, extra atts etc) faster by switching campaigns if you want to enjoy the game then at least for one char accept it will be slower and wend your way through proph.

This game is so much more fun when played with other people, if you are not already in one, find a nice guild
