How to use an Auction House with GW
Etias
One thing Guild Wars needs is an auction house. The spam and unability to find what you need without jumping around 50 districts is nuts. Until GW gets an Auction House someone made one at:
GW Trading Post
This IS NOT for REAL money. Its a program that lets you list items and how much gold you want to sell it for. Other players can then browse the listings and contact you through the program or game to meet you in game and sell the item for in game gold.
To get it, goto the link above, create an account (it holds all your item info, its FREE) then download the 2 meg program.
Currently it is in a beta form but it works and in my opinion a beta auction house is better then the spam in game. The more people we get using it the more items that will be listed.
This IS NOT my program, I just found it in another post and hope it catches on

Ive tried this, and whenever i start it, it says "Network Down" or something to that effect. I think this would be a good idea if it works as its supposed to and the ammount of users are high.

bounce around 50 districts, really i thot the trade chat went across all districts, o wait i actually knew that so i guess you just need to keep reading the text and check the dif areas IE AC or RANIK ect.... trust me prime time you get so much selling and buying posts you cant even keep up with what is out there.

this definitely seems like a better alternative to the constant pink spamming in-game... I downloaded it, and I think I'll use it.
Thanks for the link!

I am glad you are finding this useful. He just updated some things, like the ability to see everything that someone is listing and is working on adding RARITY to the listings. So say you want a purple item, you'll be able to tell easily which ones are purple. A new program usually comes out every other day or so

I think Guild Wars needs to take a look at what Knight Online has done in their game. In Knight Online you have the option to "merchant" anywhere and what you do is theres a box of 10 slots and u drag items from ur inventory into those boxes and when u do so it asks you to put in a price for the item and then when you have put all the items in the boxes that you wish to sell you click ok and then people see you merchanting and come up to u to see what your selling and they can buy it right off you without any of the trading crap. I wouldn't like to see this option set for EVERYWHERE but It'd be nice to have certain places specifically for auctioning.

But "Merchanting" requires you to stay logged in the game, and this in turn creates lag. a Auction house would be a much better alternative, you could post your item, how much you want to sell it for, then for a small fee (say 10% of the sales price) the auction house would display that item to everyone who is looking through it, add to this search functions and you have a basic auction house that would solve many GW players woes about the trading system.
(i know most of you understand this concept, but it seems some dont so i was laying it out once again for them)

Has this thing worked for anyone?
Every time I run it , it says "Network Down. Try again Later."

I'm not even trying this program, as I don't trust most third party sites. This one doesn't look very professional to me either.
I'd still rather use rpgtraders if I'd be using any at all.

Yeh i completely agree, we definetly need an auctions house in Guild Wars, would be so much easier to sell things ingame and still be playing or gaining new items..
sybban

I've also sent a message to THX, so he'll be banned within the next 24 hours I imagine. I also personally sent an email to Arenanet to get his "website" dealt with. Ahhh sweet justice.

how do i know this is safe?

Any auction outside GW have the timezone and many other problem. Yes, we need Auction / Player Shop, but the problem is while we think doing business in game is fun, Anet think it's grind.
