What I would see a great aspect for the game is, instead of paying real money for the Extreme Makeover or Make Over kit for your char. They should have a NPC that charges you to IN - GAME money to give your char a new look. You know, charge 5k or 10k?

What do you guys think?

I would love it, anet would hate it and perhaps people that paid already for it. Also, could hurt game update development

A pwyw model would work maybe, but NC would never allow this kind of customer freedom.

unfortunately they are already charging for it, and will not stop doing so....if you had been around for the 'we cant do this' phase of the makeover forum idea back when.....well, lets just say it aint gonna change ever. It was a good idea---a few years ago when it was first suggested....now its just tooooooo late.

I have mixed feelings about it.

When you start a character or at least when I start one I am pretty careful with look and name so seldom if ever want a change.
If I have played a few hours or days I just start again if I begin to hate it.
Ok so much for gender face colouration etc.

Hair style and colour now that should be freely changeable and by an in game NPC.
More drastic changes can come as they do via a makeover pack for real cash.

It works fine as it is...
People who paid for it would be pretty pissed if it suddenly cost nothing (ingame cash)

Since we don't pay for playing each month, I really don't see the big deal.

But... If anything should be changed to this system, they should make it a one-time payment for infinete makeovers/extreme-makeovers.

I don't think the devs can use in-game gold to buy their food, so they are rather partial to the income stream.

I wish people would stop moaning about such things.

Guild wars cost pennies for the amount of time we use it for.

Most $60 games I play once (if that)... by contrast GW, even with storage upgrades, mercenaries or whatever, is cheap as chips by comparison.

Do people think a company which charges no monthly fee survives solely by initial purchase price?

Servers and game development/coding costs, and it must be paid for.

The great thing is GW is an OPT-IN game, if you don't want it, you don't have to pay for it, and this applies to cosmetic changes. Fine by me, and good on those who do spend, it helps to keep things going.

They need micro-payments to keep GW alive, so no to in-game cash for makeovers.

I think... no.
1. if this should be changed, it should def. cost way more than 5-10k imo.
2. people that bought the packs would get pissed... and with a fairly good reason.
3. anet needs money to continue giving us updates and they need some to make a living.

Part of me wouldn't mind if these was aquired from in-game gold, but I have to /notsign this
