Embark Beach - Sworn to Mystery

Anyone know what's up with the four chicks in Embark Beach who have dialogue about travelling around Tyria? Are they just there for flavour or are they hints of what's to come? It's been bothering me for a while now.

I do hope they are related to cantha, they could provide hints or quests to perform in cantha without telling too much like in WiK.

Yeah I was wandering the same thing a while ago but looking at what Ceira say, I agree with Kelli that it could be something related to woc.

Ceira Sworn to Fire: "I can't help the feeling that there are terrible things to come... we need to foster this sense of unity now, so that we can face the future prepared."

It really sounds like what she's really trying to say is "I can't help but think the Winds of Change are coming..."

Indeed, hopefully it comes out before the next rapture.

Personally i just think theyre characters that show unity between the campaigns and also just filler characters.I think the sentence about future troubles could just be vague and say how this update will help keep us together.
The whole Canthan costumes could be a coincidence, aren't the Zaishen canthen based?

I highly doubt it Benjzee, given the finite resources of the Live Team (4 people, right?) I think they are past the point where red herrings are considered time well spent.

One thing that bugs me, why are they going to incredible lengths to put Zaishen scouts everywhere?
That was part of a recent update, putting them in the Warren and the Deep. If you are that advanced in the game, I don't think you need an NPC to tell you about Embark Beach.

They do more than just tell you about it, it can teleport you to Embark Beach in one go. The teleport isn't entirely necessary, but it makes things easier.

I always thought they were part of the Celestial Ministry.

It reduces the number of clicks/loading screens it takes to get to EB. They're really trying to make it accessible wherever you are so people will use it for grouping.

I wonder if there would be any way to bring up a map instead of a list when accessing the travel people at EB. I would think most people know where they are by location and not name.

Sounds more like GW2 reference. The whole concept is people coming together to fight one common threat despite their differences and bad blood. The 'terrible things' is, of course, the Elder Dragons.

This is extremely obvious?

As the saying goes; Better to have people think you are stupid, than open your mouth and confirm it.

No offence but what she is saying is basically a no brainer... given that WoC is about what causes the future emperor to be xenophobic and push people out (not band together and banding together has, most likely, little to do with WoC anyway)... this and the fact that Embark Beach can be consider stuck in a Time Rip and she is sensing terrible things that are about to happen (I.e. Nightfall, Lich king's Rising, Shiro, great destroyer etc.)

Just saying...

Being from the Celestial Ministry isn't such a long shot. They are all representative of some kind of element and the same with the Celestial Ministry. It would be interesting to see if they were scouts or agents working for the Clestial Ministry and had some kind of tie in to the Winds of Change plot.

It seems rather random to throw them into the game if they didn't mean anything, although they don't exactly say anything criptic or meaningful.

GW2 is meant to be taking place 250 years after GW1 though. She's have to be awesomely psychic/an actual time traveller to know about that surely?
