Bots...

Basically about a year ago, Anet banned roughly 1-2 accounts from people who used GWCA interrupt bot. Problem is the people who botted had multiple accounts, so banning 2 accounts when you have 7 doesn't do anything. Now we have the same players botting on their 3rd or 4th account, and now they use a bot which makes it extremely hard for Anet to catch because the script they use now doesn't inject the DLL file so obviously like GWCA did and runs more controlled interrupts where it's less obvious to detect from a observer perspective. So whenever you email anet complaining about someone botting, you always get back not enough significant proof/etc.

My friend and I actually tested this. He ran the bot on a trash account for about a week, then I sent an email to anet telling them he's botting, and got back not enough proof.

So now we have mats where if you actually are able to play without getting ddos'd, you most likely are fighting a bot.

Go outside and play real sports. People will try to do what they can to cheat there too, but it's not as easy as online crap.

Meh, don't really see what can be done. Dead horse etc.

Though it doesn't help that this meta with dervishes still promotes key rupts on RC etc being more gamebreaking than it should usually be in more balanced meta's.

There was a bot sweep earlier this month. Anet can detect them.

mainly the pve bots or the baddie RA bots who still use the old bots, but the top rank gvg botters are still undetected.

You're one person, and if your with a friend, you're two people detecting a handful of bots by observing their moves. The GM's are a group of people trying to detect and ban THOUSANDS. It takes a while to make the rounds.

I think posting this statement on a public forum will make the problem worse.

yes but when we are telling them specifically which people are botting (and trust me, I'm not the only one reporting them), and they can't detect them botting, it's not that anet just has its hands full, it's that currently the bot they are using is undetected by anet.

not really. I doubt anyone in guildwarsguru knows the bot that top rank botters use, and people who do know it already know what i've been saying.

What do you expect this thread to accomplish? Anet knows that things are happening; it's in their hands to do something about it.
