[Texmod] New Malware.aj?

So I was trying out AVG instead of Avast!, and when I ran Texmod, it said it detected this virus (new malware.aj). I checked the MD5 hash, the file is the legit one from the Wiki, it all checked out, but still registering as a virus. Did my copy get infected after the download? Or is it just a false alarm? I'd like to get some mapping done today v.v

AVG has a bad habit of falsely identifying Texmod as a virus, since it does utilize some virus-like activities in order to function. If the hash checks out, then you should be fine.

You should be fine. I've had texmod for awhile now(over 2 years?) and I'm fine!

Yeah, I just deleted the copy that seemed to be infected, did a full scan x2, and extracted a new copy from the zip. Both the zip and new copy checksums check out, and no virus alerts. Seems to be fine now.

texmod does carry a warning that some av`s will claim a false positive - so far ive not had this using avast but always be vigilant and only download its mods and program only from official sources and you should be fine.
