Learning to play GvG in a guild that is champ rated might not be the easiest thing for people those guild also want people with a decent Gladiator, Hero, and Codex rank or something to prove their worth. They also need to be very experienced and have previous high-end GvG experience. Getting to r3 is tough because you usually don't get points by the dozen, but by a few games. I guess you could buy your way to Mighty Hero.

To me titles aren't very important besides the PvE-skill only effectiveness though I do like Legendary Guardian. I honestly roll to many characters and get bored with them too quick to be concerned with anything but PvP titles and account wide. How about you? Are you a get them all person, come as they are, or I can do without. Personally, most feel very tedious or completely money driven and I'm sure this has been discussed into the ground, I'd like to here current feedback. I'm sure most people care only for their HoM accomplishments now.
On a scale from 1-10, rate how important you feel they are: I give them a 4 because many people rely on them on an experience indicator even if the player is new to the game or they were bought, as I said before PvE-only skills are somewhat important when it comes to speed clears. |

Also unfortunately, since I have so many characters, I don't have a GWAMM because I didn't want to feel bored playing a single character to death. If you see me in the game, you would think I have less experience than a GWAMM but I don't care as long as I have fun doing the things that I want to do.
P.S.: I am spending time building a new warrior and mesmer at the moment, ever since I earned LDoA through them. Making them go through all the campaigns again, including EOTN. It may be easier to earn Survivor through a new character but that is another topic.

you honestly expect to just get into a champ range guild to learn? No, you learn, then get to champ range. takes a while, but it still beats paying for the title. R3 hero takes virtually no time at all. Gladiator was never that hard.

I have the same problem as you, I have too many characters. I have 2 of every core characters, 1 Paragon, 1 Rit, 1 Assassin, and 1 dervish which is a total of 16 PvE characters. And you know what, ALL of them are legendary guardians on top of maxed Sunspear and Lightbringer. That's right, I was a Zaishen Mission fanatic. Having done it 16 times, I can probably write a guide on how to get your legendary guardian title fast.

I was going to have an LDoA character, but I feel so bored, and will never put fourth the time for GWAMM. I think the most I'll get to is People Know Me then probably PvP or do silly things on another character. Just like you I play to have fun, I couldn't imagine doing a zaishen mission 16 times in one day. Once is enough, haha.

With the current daily vanguard quests in pre-searing it is much easier to get LDoA than before. I wouldn't have the patience for LDoA before that update.
Absolute Destiny
Sunspear/Lightbringer - 6, for PvE skills and they make NF easier.
Norn/Vanguard/Asura/Deldrimor - 7-8, for armor, skills, and consumables.
Luxon/Kurzick - 7, for PvE skills
Cartographer - 8, for the characters I've designated as explorers just for fun.
Anything else - 1. Could care less.

I'm not speaking for this person. If you don't do speed clears then they really do lose their value, you will naturally get Lightbringer and any other type of reputation title simply by turning in one book, a few hard mode missions or dungeons, and a couple vanquishes.
Kook~NBK~
Different titles have different values for different people. And those different people will have different reasons for the different values they place on those titles. For Examples:
I like the Norn title track simply because "Slayer of All" is an awesome title! Muuuaaahahahahahahaha!
I like the Asura title for some of the PvE skills - everything else about it sucks.
I take pride in my LV title because I did it with my Mesmer (pre-buff) and I definitely earned that one.
I give my LS titles a 7 because I know how I earned them. Any LS title earned via Killroy's or Hammers or the like are a joke and get a -5 (not that I'd know who got it one of those ways)
Which brings up the point - One will never know how another got whatever title they're wearing, be it by doing an easy-peasy grind or by buying it or getting it ran for them, so it's rather silly to jump to conclusions about the "cheapness" of the title they're wearing.

if there's no proof, any evidence is irrelevant! they must are all just be power traders who bought their titles and power trading is evil because they have more money than me
/gw community sucks

everyone keep in mind people who do well in gvg and ha will flourish in any other part of the game and those who win tournaments, high-end gvg, and hold halls are going to probably have a lot of money so i can see why they would simply pay for titles especially content they've played through multiple times already.

Titles are the result of persistence and have no importance whatsoever, other than as a way of keeping personal score about whether you have "completed" a character. The only value I place on titles is related to how impressive a GWAMMspike I can produce. The one I am trying to line up on my next (and what will be my last) completed character will be :
Vanq Elona
Leg Vanquisher
Map Elona
Leg Cartographer
Holy Lightbringer
Leg Treasurehunter (which is why I doing on alt account cos main has 25000 chests)
Tyria Skillhunter
Cantrha Skillhunter
Elona Skillhunter
Leg Skillhunter
GWAMM (should pop up around here before and the others will be on top of that)
Max Wisdom
Blessed by Fate (this will be the challenge - the only one trusting to luck)
Sweet
Party
Alcohol
That should take me from 19 to either 34 or 35 in an impressive flurry all achieved in zone. Blessed by Fate will be the one risk. I will have to minimise the risk by trying to get 2 chances at a chest in the area and rack up 60 DP with sac skills to give me a chance several chances to tip over the edge with some clovers.

and if it is in anyway relevant, i myself have a gwamm, and i got it for the sense of the accomplishment, like cosy said, i couldn't give a rat's ass what people think about me in a game, i just wanted to feel like i beat the game, and it gave me something to do in this game...
Lord Natural
I never cared much about my own titles. The only title I wanted to have when I started the game was r9 hero, because I thought the tiger was cool. Beyond that, I worked on Gladiator for fun and everything else was just something to do while bored, or titles that just came naturally from playing the game.
For PvP, titles do help if you're inviting a stranger to your group. I realize that titles don't necessarily correlate with skill, but they do signify at least some experience. Any time you invite a random to fill an extra slot it's a roll of the dice, but if they can at least demonstrate with a title that they've got some hours put in, you know the person has some idea of what's going on and where to be. I know when I used to PvP there would be times when you were just messing around and didn't mind taking some random, but most of the time if you're 7/8 and can't find a friend, you just want someone ranked who can fill in without needing their hand held.
I've never taken PvE seriously enough to care about titles, especially since most things in the game have always been possible with hench (or heroes now). If I'm doing a vanquish I'll sometimes invite a person, because I know that even if they're running some turd bar or end up leaving, I can do the job with 7 anyway. What title they display doesn't bother me.

I've heard stories of people having R9 or something similar to that extent and not know what weapon swapping was. Basically, indicating they probably bought the account. There's not enough people in HA to play with as it is so eventually that person will learn enough to succeed in a group or at least won't be blamed for a loss.
thedeadlyassassin
Eh, I've played the game since release, and the titles keep me into it. So I give them a 7. I like some titles that show what you did, and are actually quite impressive (IE lmotn, guardian, vanquisher, cartographer). But others are just like... really? I have to kill easy creatures for rep? gtfo. Those ruin it.
But, I'm at 34/50, and 25/30 titles. I'd like to get GWAMM before GW2 is released, so I can wear it.

Voodoo Rage
For some reason I like doing the skill hunter title which also coordinates nicely with the post-update survivor title too. Otherwise other than having every skill unlocked for heroes, it's completely worthless overall since 90+% of elite skills are completely unusable.
I do like how they re-scaled most of the PvE skills so that maxing the titles isn't really a big deal to get functionality from the skills.

Grav
When I began GW I didn't give a damn about titles, they all seemed so far away, I just got on with playing the game. But it got a lot easier once I'd completed the campaigns, so I thought, why not?
Hard to put a number on it out of 10, but it's probably higher now than I'd like to admit.

Well,i usually dont care about titles in general, but pve titles to increase efficiency of skills yes.
I give them 7+..
I dont care how ppl take them,i just care about how high they are because sometimes are essential for the sucess of run.
For example in DoA trench, you cant do a good spike if all members have low-level lightbringer title...40% extra damage is a lot.
Or on Dhuum, with a low-level Asura title it took ages to kill Dhuum.
Or When you do MT/T1/T2 with a low-level Norn title,% to death increase with a low-level IAU.
Thats why i care a lot about them.
