What are you all doing with your ectos?

I've recently returned to Guild Wars after a 2-year break, just in time for some very interesting updates and new dynamics to the in-game economy (I just happened to return the day after the big arena & zcoin update ).

Anyways I've noticed ecto prices have been falling since I got back, and a lot of people seem to be converting their ecto stacks into zkeys and gold zcoins. Should I be doing this? If so, how stable have zkey prices been? Or is this ecto price drop a more temporary thing? My only two personal frame of references are from Prophecies when ectos were 11-13k, and during EotN when ectos were 4-6k.

I'd like to hear your thoughts and advice. Thanks!

Zkeys are slowly lowering, zoins are worth about 2e for the right buyer. I would keep the ectos or convert them to platinum and have mules hold the extra gold or spare accounts.

Ectos is like gold in the real world to me, they fluctuate up and down, but they are always a reliable source of value. I would just sit on them, odds are they will go back up to around 8k.

I gave and give all my ecto away to guildies who still needed to get their points for their HoM in anticipation of GW2.

Money can only buy you vanity in GW, and when you have what you want...

We all could use an Arduin in our guilds...sigh.

I find most people give their spare ectos to snograt. Apparently it's a very fashionable thing to do.

And all of Snograt's ecto are given to _Nihilist_, because that's just how it works.

Hoarding it in anticipation of future content, seeing as GW2 is still a long while off. I used to help fund my mates and their quest to 30/50 points, but they're all done now.

ectos....the FEW I have....well, are just taking up space (have a lofty idea of one day getting ugly fow armor to finish my last point for my HoM....but seeing as I can count my ectos on one hand---that day twill be afar off------)

I only buy ectos for specific purposes. So, I bought some for my FoW armor, and whenever I wanted to buy an Armbrace. Or, these days, to exchange for Zgold.

I only have around 60 ectos at the moment, which mostly were bought. Any time it gets around 105, another character gets Obsidian armor.

I don't see the point in hoarding "wealth" (in GW).

im just sitting here in my GH with dunkuro playing craps with him. seeing as how he has like 90,000 ectos and i only have a few thousand left... it doesn't look like i know how to play craps very well. but hey i can't complain it has been fun to get my "bleep" handed to me from a hero. then again i think if i ever see him in RL i will just jack him for my ectos. i miss my mini panda, so i'm saving up for a polar to dedicate. maybe then my HoM will be cool enough for me to go back inside. currently my mini panda is so lonely in there that he bullies the rest of my minis for their lunch money. but hey at 49 points i only need one more title to max it out. i wonder what will happen first. the polar getting purchased... or the slow vanquish titles i am working on to get GWAMM being completed. atleast i only need one to get a full 50 point HoM. then the other two and legendary VQ for GWAMM.
