Additional alliance spies have been spotted near Fort Aspenwood and the Jade Quarry.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that occasionally stopped a player's forward motion when using a flash enchantment.

Interesting. What purpose do the new spies serve? I see why they're required for AB but FA/JQ do not have the same access restrictions.

I expect any tiny fragment of WoC stuff will appear on that day.

PvP characters. Can't portal to JQ/FA, so you have to teleport to GToB and then talk to the diplomats to switch over to the other side.

This saves a map travel.

Pretty happy on the flash enchant fix actually, that was quite annoying.

Spies just look like a cheap attempt at not really fixing FA. Slightly less annoying for PvP chars in JQ at least.

If they're going to add random npcs to outposts, it would be nice if they didn't put them in the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing boonies on the maps. Is it really too much to ask to have them all located in one convenient area?

It says NEAR, not in. I did check around the area and nothing seems new or out of place..... yet.

We all thought it would coincide with the CNY but it looks like it's going to sync with the Dragon Festival which will happen on the weekend after this next one.
They'll have a "mystery update" which will read "decorations for DF" and stuff like that.
That'll be the groundwork. I expect WoC to drop in the middle of the day Saturday with a tengu assassination attempt upon the emperor, hopefully thru a special mission that sounds innocuous so we can all see it.
Then the PR campaign starts with snippets from the new ministry of purity, then the missions and bounties start.

I hope it will be so much more than that, but I don't honestly see how they are going to improve upon that. ANet has pleasantly surprised me before and I hope they do so again.

I do wish they would put more thought into the NPC locations. Running from Tolkano to the Imperial Faction trader when trying to dump my faction into Z Keys is incredibly annoying (when dealing with a smaller Balthazar Faction cap). It seems worse on the Kurzick side of FA but the Luxon side of JQ makes me not even bother. I just wait until it gets crazy full then go to a better outpost to do it.

Haven't been able to test this but, what if your pve character doesn't have the other side unlocked? Will the spy still transport you there?

I'm going to put this out there and say the spies are related to WoC. The spies are traveling to territories where Kurzicks and Luxons fight over. Perhaps these spies are from the Dragon Empire. Starting to find away to end the war and unite? idk just random guess..

Agreed, I am thinking something like the Shining Blade Camp someplace. The update does say the new spies have been spotted NEAR JQ/FA and not IN JQ/FA.

They are near the quarry and near the fort.

When we pretty much know for sure that the big Cantha-focused PvE update will be coming out on the same day as the big Cantha-focused holiday, and yet we still get a thread of people crying about a small update, yes, yes, I can.
