Envoy weapons would be worth so much more if Zcoins were not tradable.
Zcoins are easier to get if you have more characters on your account. Especially on those days with easy ZB/Ms like Augury Rock or the final EotN mission (forgot the name) you can get them quick and fast. I'm sure there are others that I can't remember off-the-bat, as well.
Z-Coins really worth the effort?

The envoy weapons are pretty rare skins that players can work towards, with a definite goal in sight. Yes, they're really tough to get, but it's better than playing the lottery with dungeon chests, IMO. I wish GW had a few more high end skins like that (and tormentor's).

I think it's just fine and if someone out there has saved every z coin they earned since day one, then you should enjoy an Envoy weapon.
I would rather put Z coins towards my zaishen title or at least sell z-keys or even the gold coins themselves now.
However if I had a high Z-rank, had my obby armor, GWAMM, and full HoM; I would start working for an envoy weapon.
It's just e-peen, but what else is there while we wait for WoC and GW2?

@ Spiritz: I agree with your points. Just to point out one thing, the base price of a z-coin can be determined roughly by what you can trade for them. In the case of gold z-coins, we look at elite tomes and z-keys, but specifically the Elite Ritualist Tome, which goes for 10-15k. Because the Elite Rit Tomes are now easier to acquire, their price has decreased, so what we see is a convergence of the prices of Elite Rit Tomes and gold z-coins. Then the price of the gold z-coin raises a little bit because of the flexibility it gives you in acquiring specific items (not only tomes and z-keys, but things that are only attainable by trade for z-coins, such as the equip packs and envoy weps). This gives us a rough value of what z-coins should be worth. And of course market fluctuations, supply/demand, etc are applied. The value is not just picked out of thin air.
I personally would like to see the value of a gold z-coin stabilize at around 10k, and have it become a standard form of currency, much like the ecto. It's uses are far more than that of the ecto, and it is more consistently accessible. Additionally, it is not only a certain group of people (fast and experienced speed farmers) that are able to attain it (without purchase). The only thing that the ecto has over the gold z-coin is a trader that stabilizes the value. |
If you sell the silver or flames you earn and buy gold with the cash from those then you end way on top. It's win win...if you sell gold coins or keep them for use then your missing out on a lot of potential.

Selling gold z-coins is almost like shooting yourself in the foot. Silver coins or flames or balth can be sold for 2k each rather easily. So it is advisable not to craft gold coins but to sell silver coins or flames. For each gold coin crafted and sold one potentially loses 5-10k. Now when taken into consideration the price of Envoy weaps...by crafting gold coins one would potentially lose out on roughly 600k or more. Seems pretty black and white to me...but idk

I know finding a buyer for gold zoins @ 15k/2e each isn't that tough, but at that price you're still missing out on money to be made from the silver zoins.

If you could get 3e or ~20k per gold zoin then it would be wise to sell. An Envoy weapon should be worth 2.1 mil since 100 gold zoins could be traded for 300e, but I think the person might have to be somewhat desperate. I'm just going by the fact that people sell and buy silver zoins at 2k each. 1000 silver zoins is worth 2 mil exactly at 2k each so it might be worth it to invest in the gold coins or buy envoy weapons, but finding someone to sell them to for that much might be tricky since you can easily find buyers at 2k each when it comes to silver. In short term it seems worth it to sell the silver, in long term I find the gold are more worth it in bulk. The envoy weapons could be traded for a couple armbraces and potentially give you a better rate then trading for ectos but that depends on how many you get and what you sell them for.

Are you referring to what I'm saying or the zcoins in general? I got kind of lost in my own reply because I don't pay that much attention to zcoins or deal with them, I sell strongboxes and zkeys, only thing usually concerned with.
