it has a high req and its in energy storage not a magic type... but i have seen platinum staffs going for alot so i figured i would ask. If it is merch trash could someone explain why some plat staffs go for alot thanks in advance.

This one is merch food, as are most inscription ones.
The platinum staves you see going for a lot are non-inscription ones that have perfect inherent mods. Especially ones that are 20/20
