Allow heroes in Scrimmages
Lishy
With the death of Hero battles, but the dawn of 7 heroes, it truly would be nice if me and my friends could face off with our customized hero teams.
I think they should allow heroes into scrimmages since that is the only form of "free play" and 1v1 PvP which Guild Wars has to offer!
Scrimmages contain no reward, and wouldn't this put to better use the heroes you've unlocked with your precious faction?
Anyways, scrimmages should be adjusted to let in heroes! (Or just create a free play PvP where we can play against anyone we want with any set of rules...)

I definately want this too!
However, according to Joe, the restrictions for scrimmages and rated matches are identical (same code), so it would require a lot more work than expected. But he did express his intention to tackle this in the future when the time is available.

Personally, what I really wish is a general free PvP that lets us choose any arena and set of rules. It could probably even use the Team Arenas outpost!
A hall of heroes King of the Hill practice match using heroes could be quite fun with a friend. Or guilds in an alliance could even have a mini tournament to put together the best team and face off with best 2 out of 3 matches!
Not to mention a controlled environment would allow for better teaching, helping lighten the rank discrimination.

Agreeing and /signed for obvious reasons... However , you know people today... Bad reward = least care it will received from players , especially considering that abusing most PvP formats are rewarding a lot ....
This scrimmage would bring back a few players and make some others do it , but that's only for players who still play the game for fun or nostalgia in my opinion ..

I play PvP for fun. If there was an Arena that let me 1v1 my friends with 64 skills, as intended by the game mechanics, then it sounds like a good idea.
Also the setting rules before entering would be cool too, but you'd have to meet someone halfway if you ever want to get into a battle. PvE skills accepted would be lulzy and select previous Flux.

Precisely. It's no more than a "just for fun" set of rules we can implement, no different than setting up a match of Super Smash Bros Brawl to play with some friends.
GW PvP is fun and all, but I honestly believe its biggest fault simply is the fact it is so automated and always needing involve a reward. It takes away from the social and community aspect of it, and should really have been here from the start instead of our randomized automated tourney-like system of every single PvP we have.
Wouldn't it be fun to let players have control over the rules for once? Imagine a 4-man hall of heroes tourny! (Or a W/A only run!)

Some sign of victory would be nice. Not anything of value or titles or anything like that.
"trophy token" no value, no trading it for anything.
The only reason I'd want that is to convince people outside of my slacker PvE alliance to give it a try (wager tokens for battle)
Nothing but bragging rights for victory.

Being able to use those everlasting tonics there could make it even more fun

As long as there's no rewards at all during scrimmages (not even experience of Balthazar faction) I don't see why not.

I totally have wanted this for a while. /signed 100%.

I could set up a skrimage with my wife to fine tune our characters and heroes. I kinda like the idea of a simple competition with some one I know without being accused of syncing or match manipulation or other "your're doing that to get better rewards" B.S. I just want to beat up my wife and I can wager loser has to wash the dishes!
p.s. I'll never win that bet!

I don't care at all of having no rewards to be honest , but i'm sure 99% of players do and that's why noone cares of this suggestion ( check number of views) and why it probably won't ever be implemented....Quite sad ...

i dont do pvp in any of the MMO's i play, but i like to see this
for fun using your heroes against a guildy, alliance member, maybe even 8 people or a friend
again an old suggestion people like, and Anet has been listening lately to those old ideas people liked on several forums (not just GWGuru)

I have a group of friends looking to start GW. RA can be very unforgiving to new players, I know I have no tolerance for them alot of the time (after all the game is 6 years old), but I could teach my friends alot more with 4v4 or even 8v8 scrims in the GH using heroes, such as making team builds.
I'm surprised they removed heroes from scrims when they took them out of PvP. After all it counts for nothing.

Scrimmages should be free-form PvP with no rewards.
I remember some suggestion about letting people choose the 'rules', and even if PvP or PvE skills would be used.
