What's the deal with District 15?

Forgive me if this is an old question, but I've done a search for "district 15" and found nothing.

Go to a town, any town (preferrably a big one like Ascalon) and go to district 15 (if there is one). Odds are it'll be a ghost town with *maybe* half a dozen people there at most. Most likely less. On Ashford Abbey and Yak's Bend there have been occasions where there was just me and a guild mate. On Ascalon once there was a grand total of 2 others.

A guild mate of mine discovered this phenomenon several days ago and it's been persistently the case now since last night.

Anybody know what the deal with this is? I'd test it again while posting this, but I won't be on my computer for many hours still.

Whether it's a fluke or not, I've noticed this too. It makes for convenient meeting with guild mates, though... no local or trade spam to deal with.

Of course, now that this has been posted, District 15 will be the new Mecca of GW. :P

Yea. I've let the cat out of the bag. Here come the men in black to take me away...

Seriously I think most players would stay away anyway. There's no "action" in that district. Soloists and people who don't want to be pestered though will probably go there to play in relative peace, so I have no problem with that.

My boyfriend and I met up in Fort Ranik District 3 last night to sell things and regroup, and we ended up being the only two people there. It surprised us both because we'd never run into that before. Of course that has nothing to do with District 15, but it was still an interesting ghost town incident.

The district 15 phenomenon seems perpetual though. It doesn't matter even if you go there during peak hours (like, say, 8pm on a weeknight). It'll be practically empty. All other districts might be packed with people but good old 15 will be empty.

Maybe someone with ArenaNet will read this and put it back into rotation, as those servers aren't exactly cheap and accomodating just a small number of people is wasteful. Oh well, it was interesting while it lasted.

None at the moment

Well, that's just odd. Is it like that in every town?

Hmm, I always used International district when I want to avoid people, but D 15 may sound tempting.

Well I don't want to repeat myself too much (don't want to be accused of spamming for posts. ), but I've only seen one exception to this rule.

When I play with a particular buddy of mine (long-Time real friends, we've been gaming together on the phone for years now) we always head to district 15 once we discovered the phenomenon because it's quiet there. I can't remember what location had a full district 15 (similar to other districts) but it was only on one occasion out of the past five or six nights. Not to mention we go to 15 constantly over the course of the night of playing.

That is, assuming that the location has a district 15.

Alright that's enough out of me on this subject. Go try it out for yourselves and see. Pre or post sear, doesn't matter.

The screenshot was made on sunday the 8th of May at 2:51pm Pacific Time. Names (and word) have been altered to protect the doofuses in the screenshot, me especially for typing something like that because I thought it would make a funny screenshot at some point.

I ended up in a veritable ghost town last night (maybe half-a-dozen people total) but I have no idea which district it was.
