Hi,
I got a new secondary account [Thanks Steam] and now got a bit of a dilemma. To purchase anything from the ingame store, I have to link my new account to NCSoft. And I guess most of us know or suspect that it's not always such a great thing. For example:

* If your NCSoft account is hacked, you can basically change GW password without problems.
* NCSoft passwords are limited, they doesn't even allow special characters.
* I heard you can't change login email address once linked (unconfirmed). If true, if your account is ever hacked, the hackers will forever know 2 of 3 needed login details unless you delete all your characters :/

I just want to hear some opinions.. is it worth to link the account just to be able to use the ingame shop (ie. mercenaries), or do you think it's better to leave it unlinked?

I assume once GW2 is out, it will force a linking with NCSoft just to link GW1/GW2 as well

EDIT: If possible please tell me why you think it's good/bad to link the accounts, I'm looking for all kinds of (non-trolling) opinions, experiences or anything remotely related to this topic that might be useful to know.

No big deal really. Get a new email account especially for NCSoft and GW. Use it for nothing else. Visit it weekly and keep it active.

Use a strong password. At least 12 characters both alpha and numeric. Random as possible.

Write down your password and email address on a card. Also the name of one of your characters when you have created one. Keep this card in a safe place where no one else can see it.

Keep all the Steam ID information. Might be useful later on.

I have been playing since Prophecies was released in 2005. Never any problem.

Q&A unfortunately isn't for opinions. :< This would be better suited elsewhere.
