What do 50+, 130++, etc, mean with respect to speed clears?

I used to do a ton of endgame elite areas with my alliance, and after a few years I'm back for round 2. I'm going to start by trying SoS for UWSC, but before I do, I'm seeing a lot of groups looking for "50+, 100+" and other such numbers. I've heard of people getting "rank discriminated" with respect to speed clears nowadays, does this have something to do with it?

They're referring to Ghastly Summoning Stones, which drop from the end chest of UW. People use them to gauge your experience (since more stones translates to more completions, but you can just buy them so it's pretty stupid).

If you ever get rank discriminated, just be like "so how does everyone know you actually earned all of your 100+ stones and didn't just buy them?" that's why it's just easier to do UW and stuff that you need "Ranks" just with a guild and not bad pugs. atleast with learning guilds you won't get raged at too much.

The stone thing is pretty silly because like Marty said, yes they can bought easily

I don't have a stone to my name, simple reason being I use them for the actual purpose they were intended to be used for and I wouldn't keep them in my storage to be used as proof that i'm super badass at clicking submit trade and accept offer

Most PUGs tend to fail regardless of how many stones they have in their posession and you'd think that by now it would click on to people that stones don't prove anything.

In my honest opinion, 1000 stones are the equivalent to 0 stones as far as PUG groups are concerned

I'm pretty sure the Show Stones thing was started by an SC guild to shift all their stones, give them a high value, make more money ??? profit. My advice is; don't join teams with such a requirement.

Incidentally half of these morons who ask for stones, don't even have statue in the hall, go figure

As it has already been pointed out, those stones serve(d) their purpose; that purpose being for them to be sold out at ridiculous prices. Not to show any sort of experience or whatever. End of

Marty - how about we get a group of us with stones - get into a team then ask when we enter what we do :P.
I cant believe there are still morons who want to see stones - it reminds me of a few years ago in ab - unless you were a high rank lux/kurz title you had probs getting into a team and yet ( similar to stones ) any person could at the time fast faction farm and get high ranks without stepping foot into pvp.
They would have a field day with me - im almost r10 lux and none of it is from pvp.
These days we can actually say with money you can get into any team going regardless if your a newbie or a veteran - and when ppl say gw is slowly going downhill - id say to them "stop being morons and wanting to see stones and just get on with things and maybe players would join in more ( rather than leave ).

Without the Stone requirements, you will go through too many fails. If you dont uwsc you will not understand but there just too many idiots that cant get their job done. I made a 50+ group and didnt check stones. I had a necro spiker join in that didnt know what to do at all.

I asked him "Do you have 50 stones?", after all the slow lab spikes and he said "whats that?". From that day i always check stones.

so instead of complaining about stones do what i did.

I started of as no stones sos.
got tired of failed practice runs.
bought 10 stones.
made my own groups.
got to about 50 stones.
joined a sc guild.
Learned other roles.
earned my way up to 124+ stones.

yea about 55 times of uwsc completion might not seem like much but when you go through about 400 failed runs? you learn what mistakes there are and you learn how you can prevent them.

I do understand that it can be bought. People actually spend ectos for them lol. but how else are you going to feel good about the group youre in? That they at least have some knowledge about uwsc. they are pugs and thats the system its used to solve that. No need to say that its a terrible idea. by far its the best idea.

Yeah it is stupid, but I don't mind, because hey, more money for me. I don't have a stone to my name because I sell all mine and just sc with my guild. SC'ing with PuGs is painful, so I wouldn't recommend it. Nothing beats the feeling of waiting 20 minutes for a group and they failing halfway thru, only to have everyone ragequit. Go to the guild recruiting section, plenty of good options there.

Actually it was started as a troll/joke and now everyone takes it seriously.

I wont totally bash show stones becuase even if you bought your stones your less likely to join a group with a 150+ req if you dont know much about uw still. Although even if you earn every stone you have doing one area you can still suck at the other areas.

Also before stones was everyone with their Blacklist, iunno I'd rather have 50+ 100+ ect in all chat rather than "so and so sucks fails escort and is a noob dont take ever again!" spammed every 5 sec. You had elitism without stones your gonna have it with them. Though most people don't remember those times.

Question answered, and before this degenerates further into a discussion/debate/etc..
