Hey guys!
I've been reading on this forum for quite a while but never registered an account, but today i did.
I'm having trouble with enabling the 3D audio button in the game. It is greyed out. I have an Asus Xonar STX soundcard with the latest drivers installed. Using headphones.
Operative system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

I had a similar issue with Win 7 Ultimate and my Creative SoundBlaster x-fi cards. The 3D sound used in GW is an old technology using DirectSound. In order to get 3D sound to work in older legacy games, Creative came out with a program called ALchemy. This works with Creative products and with some tinkering (running GW in Compatibility Mode), I was able to get 3D sound working. Asus has something similar called GX mode. I don't know anything about the Asus cards so I can't help you with getting GX mode to work, but that's probably the direction you need to go in. There's a bit more info here . Good luck and post back if you can get it working.
