Views on the Warrior

What are your views on the warrior?
As im interested in rolling one.
They look great fun, and what campaign is the best as i have used factions and i run out of quests and dont intend into wanting to redo them quests and the same zone. What is nightfall like?

I have characters of all classes and I've enjoyed playing them all (although I play the Paragon, Dervish, and Assassin much less than the others). A Warrior can be tons-o-fun if you enjoy the hack'n'slash melee action.
Nightfall has nice scenery and you can pick up some Heroes. It also has some interesting endgame content.
Personally, I usually start a character in whichever campaign can give my character the "look" I want, and then shift over to the campaign/expansion I want to play after the starting area - when you get to Kaineng Center (Factions), Lion's Arch (Prophecies), or Kamadan/Consulate Docks (Nightfall) you can unlock travel to the other campaigns. You are not locked into completing the campaign you start in.

Of all the melee classes, warrior is my favorite. Dervishes and sins are too gimicky, imho. I'm not much of a melee player, so do take my opinion with a grain of salt, though.
Nightfall is always a good choice, but I kinda feel that you can't go wrong, especially as you can bounce around between them pretty easily, though the majority of my toons are prophesies, because I like that campaign the best.

Of all the classes I have played, I enjoy Warrior the most. Bored with GW a couple of weeks ago, I took the (possibly insanely drastic) step of stripping anything of use or value from all of my characters, chucking it all in storage and deleting the lot of them.
I have now rerolled my original Warrior as a Pre Searing Tyrian, filled all my remaining character slots with PVP "clones" of my main so that there is ample storage space available, and started the whole shebang from scratch.
I'm probably a week or so away from completing Legendary Defender Of Ascalon, after which I'll sear and see how much of the HOM I can complete with a Warrior before GW2 comes out. Having a riot so far...
All that said, my favourite Warrior build involved Warrior's Endurance to enable me to spam Dagger Attacks as a W/A, but there ya go...

If you want a unique experiance without meta gimmicks with a class thats remained relatively unchanged since release... Warrior is the way to go... just done expect to get into speed clears or farming with him/her.

ok thanks all for the advice, i think i will do a warrior - nightfall.
However, can you join any guild even if your on a different campaign or are they for only each campaign and same for character names. If you have for example Commander Wolfbane for factions can you or someone register that name for another campaign?

Whichever Guild you join, every character on that account will join that guild, no matter which campaign they're in.
Your character name is unique to that character and will be unavailable to anyone else in Guild Wars, irrespective of campaign.

Tbh I do not share the others views/enjoyment of playing the warrior profession. They are one of the least versitile classes in the game. They hack and slash and thats about it. I have all profs at least r2 kobd on all and my war along with my para are probably the least played due to them being relatively stagnent in terms of play style.

If i were to delete my character that has a guild will my new character automatically be in the guild or?
Arduin
If you are the only one in your guild (guildleader) the guild will be disbanded.
If you make a new character on your account, you will be in the same guild as your other characters are, in the same position.

My primary is a warrior, 'nuff said.
More to the point, they are Knockdown beasts, which is what I really like. Although we have the annoying Psychic instability more effective when used by someone with the reflexes for interrupts, these days, the warrior KDs are the most unconditional ones.
Too bad you need to bring Earthbind to break KD immunity...

Warrior is excellent! There is a mystique about being a warrior that is really present in GW. Recommend level up in Nightfall, get heroes. Secondary whatever, w/mo gives you a good res if the party goes down. Otherwise rarely use a secondary.
Especially when leveling, carry a longbow for pulling. W/R not necessary, any old longbow that will lightly ding the target is fine.
Big Tip: Get a Dervish hero. Equip Dervish hero with Aura of Melandru which provides +150 health for the Dervish, +30 elemental armor, and then the real prize. Whenever the Dervish loses an enchantment, all party members in earshot including the Dervish lose one condition. Stick flash enchantments on Dervish, attack skill that removes an enchantment.
Now you have a melee hero attack partner that does some AoE damage, is built like a brick, and keeps you free of conditions nearly all the time! Zealous scythe for Dervish helpful. Warriors and Dervishes, they go together!
Nightfall by the way, just IMHO, is completely the beans. I really like the environments, like the story; plus you get heroes that will only get more powerful as you level up.
Warrior weapon? I like axes myself but opinions vary to put it mildly. Once fully leveled, a spear build can sometimes come in handy where stunning a target is more important than raw damage output.
Double clicking on a party member's name in the party list makes your character run to that member. Very helpful if you see a healer or other softy health bar starting to fall.
Good luck and have fun!

It really all comes down to personal preference. I enjoy the caster and ranged professions more than the melee professions. I'll even run a melee as a caster or a hybrid of the two rather than a straight fighter. I will admit that I haven't even tried the new and improved dervish yet, I've been focused on accumulating titles for HoM on a single character.
Regarding the comment that warriors haven't changed, that's not entirely true. Hammer skills were under-used and received a decent buff. Originally tactics was stronger than strength, but with the release of the newer chapters etc that has flipped. Axe was by far the most powerful of the warrior lines, but who uses axes nowadays?

Despite my fondness for martial classes though, I too am yet to try a Dervish. Been meaning to make one for ages, but then I started to focus getting GWAMM on my Paragon, and then the Dervish update rolled out...so...
Maybe I'll wait until they do the Paragon update they promised if they ever do, then make a Dervish once everybody else isn't using them anymore. Everybody else will be playing Paragon then anyway lol.

I chose to get HoM on my warrior since I had already started a bunch of titles with it. But if I had to start over, I would choose Assassin. Assassin has perma-IAS, does ridiculous damage with SoH, and can be a caster too, for those areas that require carrying a bundle.

Warrior is the class I enjoy most. A Warrior with Hundred Blades + Mark of Pain and/or Splinter Weapon is arguably one of the most effective damage dealers in the game at every level. When you get bored with a warrior, you can change their weapon to one of the other 2 weapons and its like learning a new way of playing. There's also scythe and dagger warriors, too, but I stick to hammer, axe, and sword.
You've got awesome damage dealing abilities, self-heals, great armor, and skills that are really a lot of fun. PvE skills like Asura Scan can even negate some of the warrior's biggest weaknesses, so you've got a pretty well-rounded character.
And don't worry about not being invited into speed clears. If the guys who do that are anything like the guys who post about it, they don't really sound like fun people to play with.
----------
This is very true. A warrior is a lot of fun for people who like to mix it up in the mosh pit with the monsters. Warriors are hard-hitting, hard-drinking, hard-partying tough guys who are at their best when things are the craziest.
Other people are more civilized and prefer ranged and caster type characters. Make sure you find a couple of these people (either guildies, friends, or heroes/henchmen) to bail you out when you get too deep into the crazy. And you will, that's your job!
