The game starts at level 20 so work off that. There's plenty of things to do,vanquish, map, dungeons, elite areas.

Tip #1 - don't let a friend run you through it. That's a bad friend. A real friend will play through, not tell you where to go or what to do, let you make mistakes and experience the game the way they did when they were starting out, and let you learn yourself while providing some general guidelines or tips (like, how/what to merc vs. sell to players, general guides to making a good build, etc).

If I was in your position I'd create a new character and learn the game from the beginning. Keep your existing L20 character though, just make another one of a different class. Perhaps start in a different campaign as well, just to mix it up a bit.

Joining a guild will also help.

I'd redo the (whichever campaign you're in), running or getting ran is all well and good and a hell of a timesaver but if you're new, when the runner departs you could be left scratching your head at some of the basic things.

For me the most important part was finding a profession I liked, I typically played warrior types in rpg's but in GW's Necro was my fav.

^Couldn't agree more with this post. In the long run, you will be a better player as well for actually playing the game(novel concept, I know).

All the dungeons are in Eye of the North so inacessible. PvP:you're pretty much limited to Alliance Battles Fort Aspenwood Jade Quarry Random Arenas Codex Arena

GvG and Hero's Ascent are probably best avoided as you will lack, hundreds of skills.

Urgoz's Warren and The Deep might be termed "dungeons" in the loosest sense. You can play those in Factions. But you should consider getting the whole set -- it can be gotten incredibly cheap nowadays. Worth considering if you're looking to play GW2. Your Hall of Monuments can earn you points to some exclusive toys in GW2.

Might try and get the other expansions then if I can get em cheap.

Do you know any good guilds that wouldn't mind recruiting a returning noob?
