Quick question

I just bought another graphic card to enable crossfire. But with my set up I need 4 x power connectors (it’s a sapphire 6850 toxic one is used I guess for the cooler of each card)

Here is my dilemma

I have 1 unused SATA power cable and I can get an adapter to make it 2 4-pin Molex. Which can be adapted to a six pin. (One card taken care of)

I have 1 open spot left on my other SATA power cable which would enable me to add the another adaptor. This would get 2 sata connections and 2 molex off of the cable. I have (DVD burner and a 7200 WD Black 650 GIG drive powered off of it) I will switch the case door light and front intake 120mm fan to this SATA cable (This will free a standard molex power cable which I can use for the other card.)

I want to check to see if the draw would be too much I think I am ok what do you think?

Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying here. I've not seen any SATA power to video card power adapters. All the one's I've seen are 4-pin Molex (the older HDD power connectors), to video.
Also, you didn't say what sort of power supply you have. If it's one of the ones with multiple "rails", you would want to spread the video connectors across the rails (one card per rail). Usually with the video cards on separate rails, and the rest of the stuff, like the SATA power, on a third one, if available.
If it's a newer power supply with just one big rail, then it doesn't really matter which cable(s) you connect to.

If you don't know what sort of power supply (PSU) it is, you could check the side of the PSU to see if the label lists the rails separately. You could post brand and model number here (and/or google it) if you can't find the info.

In any case, the power draw of the drives, lights, and fans is probably not enough to worry about which cables they are on.
