Is it a bannable offence to use EoE when playing FA? Some ppl tend to report me for leeching (guess thats the easiest alligation to defend) when playing FA, because i tend to take eoe along.

I play the game like anyone else, running amber, breaking souls and destroying turtle squads - but i also plant EoE every now and then, when i feel like it will gain my team an advantage (tho sometimes costing a few teammembers)

Is it okay that i get reported because certain people do not like the fact that i enjoy EoE in FA?

It is not bannable, but as defender, it can seriously spike Gunther so people tend to not want a defender to use it.

Ragers rage, ignore them.

EoE on kurzick side is basically giving the luxons victory on a silver platter. It makes it so much easier to kill Gunthar cuz everytime a person dies, regardless of which team, Gunthar's gonna get hurt by EoE.

If you played luxon side, it wouldn't be a big deal cuz you'd be helping your team out, but on kurzick side you're doing a lot more harm than good, regardless of how well you use it.

But no, it is not a bannable offense

I rarely place it within range of Master Architect Gunther, and if using eoe on kurzick side is giving the luxons victory on a silver platter, then they really really gotta suck - cus we rarely lose ^_^

No, using a build that isn't up to par to everyone elses standards is not a bannable offense. However, if I remember correctly abusing the report feature is.

Personally, I tend to counter someone being a dick by being one. You had the tool for payback and you should of used it. As was said previously here EoE can easily result in giving the luxxons an easy win.

These things will happen sometimes but at least it's not rampant like on some other games.

The guy who reported you would be more at risk of a ban than you because A) he's spamming and B) he is abusing the report feature

If you haven't already experienced this you'll find players who will report you for leeching if for example, you're in an RA match and someone resigns and you choose not to. So really you have nothing to worry about.

Enjoy using EoE in FA even if people think it isn't recommended, it is your account therefore nobody else but yourself has a say in what you run or don't run.

Tbh, the people who report you are the ones committing a bannable offense; you obviously aren't leeching, though you have been reported for such. The people reporting you are thus "abusing" the report system. This is a lot like situations in JQ when one or more people think it's fine to report melee players, simply because it isn't the most effective thing to bring to JQ.

"Pre-nerf" is incorrect. It's pre-buff.

Don't fret. The /report feature is only there to provide the illusion of GMs to keep people in line by means of fear. They cannot conceivably afford to pay staff to give a shit about this. If they could, there would be staff in place to fix the plethora of bugs in that particular arena.

No it isn't. It's perfectly fine. Just the same morons that report you simply for zoning into RA with a profession they don't like. If it was a bannable offense, they'd prevent you from bringing the skill to FA altogether (which they obviously can if they wished, considering that other PvP arenas have skill limits and/or skill changes).

Infact, the people that try to report you for bringing a skill they don't like are the ones who are committing a banable offense, as it is the very definition of abusing the report system. Try explaining that to them though. So long as you are playing (and not team hampering intentionally), you aren't leeching.

Although not advisable to do and not a friendly thing.....You can even bring a vamperic weapon and a skill bar full of health sacrifice skills and you still ok as long as you use your skills and wand (or any other weapon) red dots.

Being a newbe isn't a thing you can get banned by ever. And like said earlier, someone who reports a newbe is more likely to be banned.

I really don't get why Kurzicks don't want EoE anyways...

Gunther is really easy to keep at full health regardless. On defense, an even trade in damage is to your benefit because your deaths have exactly 0 effect while the luxons are put out of action for as long as it takes them to run back to the fight. I haven't seen EoE directly lose the game for the Kurzicks in years but I have certainly seen it helping them as Luxons die faster and faster so that Kurzicks have a permanent 5v8 power play advantage. Only time it actually ends up in the Luxons' favour is when too many idiots on Kurzick are playing uber-defensive builds and can't kill crap. I suppose most players are just too shortsighted to think strategically beyond "OMG THIS JUST HURTED ME GTFO".

The only bannable offense is them reporting you and ABUSING the function. Lots of idiots out there. Carry on, but as others said... it's not very wise to use it. Especially if used in a manner to kill the NPC and force your team to lose (trolling), I'd consider it harrament to other players, but if it's really a big deal then EoE shouldn't effect the end guys for that exact reason or change it's PvP format of the skill.

I have no intention of trolling my team, and i always play for victory! Just want to clear that out. I use eoe because its surprisingly effective against invading luxons, they often zerg and bring turtle squads. This results in a massive fight between Kurzick and Luxon, turtle squads and gate-defending NPCs (who will die anyway)

Slapping up an eoe spirit within range will most of the time result in a massive bloodbath, and as its the kurzicks tasks to defend the fortress - you mission is accomplished!

When you got two turtle squads in between the innner doors and the green gate, then you got 10 x Luxon Warrios running around bashing stuff up AND two turtle constantly blasting your team with AoE dmg (which also removed enchantments...) - in that scenario eoe can help wipe the warriors in one massive spike, and eventually help your team to victory.

Ashes, are you actually serious here?

Gunther will be guaranteed to be below 90% health, and will almost always be affected by EoE. When the turtles shoot, many people die, and you get a spike on Gunther, with all the damage from the Luxons added. And one spike getting through is all it takes.

I'd understand if you knew exactly where to put EoE so that it DOESN'T reach Gunther, but you don't seem to be aiming for that...

Obv you don't place it when Gunther is in danger, but 90% of the game you are fighting beyond the gates and he is at full health, so its a clear advantage.

No, it's not a bannable offense but it could be considered less helpful than you think it is according to some people.
