Do Henchmen/Heroes heal your pet?

I think I have noticed my pet being healed by my henchmen/heroes. I can not determine if it is an area effect heal or a individual heal skill being used. I wanted to play around with assigning all my heroes with a secondary class of Ranger so they can bring their pets along. However, if the healers automatically heal the pets then I am wasting skill points.

Does anyone know how henchmen/heroes pet healing works?

Is it based on some logic where they will only do so under certain ceercumstances?

Heroes/henchmen heal allied targets in range that need healing. I assume they prioritize whoever needs the most healing and I'm fairly certain they prio heroes/players over minion/pets(at least I still get heal even when my necro has many minions at low health). Having 8pets would certainly force your healer to "waste" some healing on the pets if there's any sort of AEing though, which could be detrimental. You can also consider that you have more targets so the dmg on your team would probably be lower too, which would balance out. That's how necro minions tend to work at least. I'd use a single necro over 8ranger subs though, you waste a lot less that way, and no one gets disabled when a monk RoJ all your pets at once and kill them all.

As far as I know, Heroes will heal pets - I'm not sure about Henchmen. I think the pets have a low priority. I have noticed the monks going forward to heal pets in battle, but it only seems to happen if no other player is taking damage. Also, they will heal the pets when/if they are rezzed after the battle. I have run up to 4 pets in a group, but I haven't noticed any lack of healing because of it.

Heroes will heal minions too, btw. (Low priority.)

Edit - actually, as pointed out above, they'll heal any non-spirit allies. And I too would suggest running a non-bomber MM instead of 8-pets. Not only is it not always profitable to put a pet in a build, but you also don't want your monks (etc) to be disabled because their pet just died.
