New player: Can only enter GH & Embark Beach

Hi,

(This is on Nightfall)

We are completely new players. We joined our friends' guild right after we started. We didn't complete the first Primary mission, but instead went to the Guild Hall.

After that, it's only letting us to Embark Beach, and back to the Guild Hall. There are no other map locations (no "boat" on the map) nor can we travel with a party. Kamadan is not accessible.

We tried "Leaving Guild Hall" from the guild panel, in hopes that it would take us back to the quest area, but it only takes us to Embark Beach..

There is seemingly no way to advance. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for any help!

OK, don't panic. To leave Embark beach, talk to the NPCs that have "[region] travel" in their names. They'll offer to take you to any mission outpost, but you'll only be able to travel to outposts you already have unlocked.

In your case, go uphill to the Elonian "camp" in Embark beach, talk to the NPC with "Elonian travel" there and select "I will help in Istan" and then "Chahbek village". That'll take you back to the first mission outpost.

Go to Embark beach as you can travel by talking to npc to outposts and missions. There is a nf area within Embark beach talk to one of the npc's there and let them take you to kamadan or where you left off last time you played

You will probably have to complete Chahbek Village mission first, so head back to Embark Beach and speak to Zinshao (Elonian Travel) in his list of places to visit you should have Chahbek Village. Once you have done this mission and the little follow on bits you will be in Kamadan. The boat travel you will not be able to get until you have completed a later mission on the island(if i am remembering that correctly as i don't think getting a taxi(travel with someone who has particular quest) there allows foreign travel).

If that doesnt work, have an friend /guildy travel you from gh to Chabeck(him starting there, going to gh, inviting you, then back)

Or just make new char's, its not like u got obby yet

If you open up your guild window, where you clicked to travel to the guild hall, that same button will travel you out of the guild hall to your previous location. Little tip for next time.

But like others have said, you can only travel to locations you have already unlocked/been to. Talk to the Elonian Travel person and they will take you back to where you were.

He actually knew that if you would read more careful

It sounds like you created PvP characters rather than PvE characters. PvP toons cannot explore the world. PvE toons can do both.

Embark Beach isn't available for PvP chars.

You are assuming he made it to Chabek Village. Can you create a Nightfall character and before finishing the little quest to reach Chabek, go to your GH? If you can, he might be screwed.

You can get to the guild hall immediately upon creating a new NF character. However, "leave Guild Hall" takes you back to either the tutorial or to Chabek Village.

What is odd is that they were able to get to Embark Beach. I can't find any way to get a brand new character there. But somehow they have traveled there and that is why leave guild hall dumps them in embark.

Elonian travel person should be able to get them to Chabek from Embark but, since I can't get there I cant check to make sure.

Wait NVM, there is a zaishen scout in Chahbek. He was around the corner so I did not see him. They must have talked to him and gone to Embark then to the guild hall. Zinshao in the Northern area of Embark can take you back to Chahbek just tell him you want to help in Istan then Chahbek

To continue the story, yes, they will have to complete Chahbek.

Boat travel is not an option until you get one of the port cities in the different campaigns. Lion's Arch for Prophecies, Kaineng City for Factions and Kamadan for Nightfall.

This happens a lot more often for Prophecies and Factions people because Kamadan is so easily reached in the game, but it does happen from time to time.

I wish Anet would put a Leave Embark Beach button on the world map that shows up when in Embark that worked like the Leave Guild Hall button. It would not only be useful for veterans, but would also make it much easier for new players to figure things out on their own and for others to tell new players how to go back to where they came from.
