Hello everyone, I'm not new to Guild Wars but I haven't played for a long while now. I use to be a massive fan, I've got Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall all 3 in collectors edition and I would play it often. I guess real life got in the way and I eventually stopped playing altogether. I don't have EoTN but I will buy it soon.
With Guild Wars 2 coming out soon (well when it's ready), I'd like to do whatever I need to do to fill my HoM. Not sure I'll get 50 but I'd like to get to at least 30.
I got all heroes on the 3 main campaigns. I finished the 3 campaigns with my monk. I'm looking for a build to help me do what I need to do, preferably I'd like to do it with my heroes and not other players at first just to get a feel for the game again. I don't want to ruin anyone else's game because I'm super rusty and don't necessarily know how the skills work together now because of all the updates
I've read that 3 discord necros, panic mezmer, ineptitude mezmer, SoS Rit, SoGM Rit is a good build. Can anyone tell me what skills and items to use on those classes?
At first I won't have much of anything, I gave everything I have because I didn't think I was coming back. I thought I was being generous but it ended up backfiring now that I think about it hehe (but I guess whoever got my stuff benefited from it for all those years so good for them). Preferably I'd like to play with my monk, I don't feel like finishing all the quests all over again.
Thanks for your time and help!
Haven't played in 3 or so years.

I left shortly after Factions came out, and returned after a 4+ year gap to work on my HoM for Guild Wars 2. I would recommend just shooting for 30 points in the HoM at this point, as this will net you all the bonus items, the extra 20 points are a bit more of a grind and are only for titles (as of this writing) so they aren't as beneficial at this time.
As far as bars, you can look at the PvX wiki or several builds posted here online for a general guideline, and then tweak them to fit your play style and available skills. A specific team build might work for a caster but not a melee character, so its a lot of experimentation with what works for you personally. I like experimenting with different builds personally, sometimes they fail, sometimes they give me other ideas for my current builds. Its all based on personal preference and what works for you.
As far as specific things to work on for your HoM, there are some great threads here with ideas, and I'm sure other posters will give you some great ideas on what would be best to work on.
Good luck on working on your HoM.

(I think discord is a little overrated.)
As for items and skills, it's all attached to that link.

As far as hero builds goes, the advice in this thread here has served me extremely well: Hero Meta: A Guide

I hope this doesn't bother you but I just wanted to peak in and say hi. I just recently posted a very similar post (here) and I'm glad to see I'm not alone.
I might be a bit more behind than you guys (I have yet to finish the campaigns, close, but not there yet) but maybe it's an idea to add each other as friends? Maybe we can help each other out, especially when it comes to information gathering. It's just so much information to absorb when you've been away for so long it's exhausting, at least for me .
And yes, I'm also aiming for the 30 HoM, although it feels like such a distant goal when I can't even complete a normal mission at this state.
Anyway, my Dervish's name is "Alkara Nelien", so add me if you want a little bit of moral support in our struggle.
Either way I'll keep my eye on this thread as there's a lot of good information here already.

I'm another returning player, been 50 months since I've played, and even then it was only for a month following another 8 month or so break lol. I'll also be going for the 30/50 initially, then see how realistic it is to go any further. Won't actually start playing again until this coming week though, not in the same city as my computer at the moment...

Thanks everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. Keep the information coming!
And I'm glad to see I'm not alone in this situation hehe.
