Hi! Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search for multiboxing and got nothing useful.
Basically, I am thinking of getting a second GW account, probably just Prophecies, so that I can move stuff between alts in pre-searing, and do the occasional mule run for myself. Couple of questions that I wanted to answer before I go and spend money though:
1) Is this allowed? I mean, I'll have bought the game twice, but is there anything that says I can't be logged into two accounts at once?
2) How do you run two on the same computer? I know it can be done, but most multiboxing articles seem to head straight to stuff about keybinds and macroing abilities together and stuff, which I don't need. I just need to know if I can/how I can run two accounts simultaneously - I don't mind ever-so-slow tabbing between them or whatever, as I've no plans to try and run missions with two accounts.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, running 2 accounts at the same time is allowed and you can do that by using a program called, Guildwars Multilaunch
All the directions on how to use the program are in the link.
Have fun!

FYI, it is possible to run missions with two accounts, dual monitor support helps, but usually the 2nd account won't do too much as it's hard to play two characters at the same time (at least that's been my experience). I assume that's why the articles you've read talk about keybinds and macros...to run or mirror your actions on the other account, that kind of thing would definitely be against the Terms of Service, and probably pretty easy to detect too I would think.
I know you said you didn't want to do that kind of stuff, I just thought you might want to know since you were asking about the rules on dual accounts.

You can also use the newest version of KSMod. See this thread to get you started. A benefit of using this little program is that you won't need another copy of your Guild Wars .dat and .exe. One drawback is that the virtualization mode that you need to set in order to run two accounts at once sometimes causes some graphic glitches in your storage and inventory panels.
Both, and dare I say, all, of these multilaunch applications are not approved by ANet. They don't seem to mind that you use them and as long as the aforementioned macro-ing and other EULA-forbidden things are not used, you're golden. Just if something goes horribly, horribly wrong with your computer because of these programs, you're on your own. I can say, however, that I've used both for a long time with no problems whatsoever.

I too prefer KSMod a lot more than GWML. Virtualization feature is golden

can someone do a really big thing - if you have used both ksmod gwml can you give the pros and cons of both - this should help players who are tempted to try either.
I use gwml and i find it both easy and useful - i can set my accounts to run off either drive and even run -image for both.
Anet have said in the past when asked about gwml - they dont offer support for it and for time being its ok to use ( remember anet dislikes anything that edits/changes anything to do with its client coding - gwml is like a "front end interface" that doesnt change anything , texmod they also dont mind as it doesnt change any coding and all changes are cosmetic and at your end and if you quit texmod an run gw the changes are gone ).

Thanks for all the info guys. I definitely won't be making macros or in any way trying to do two things at once. It will just make life a lot easier - my perma-pre is running badly low on bag space and she also has plenty of money which I want to use to buy charr bags to give to a new alt in pre - having two accounts will solve problems like this.
I love that this game is buy to play. I always wanted a second WoW account, but no way I was paying (or could afford) two subs. Oh, and I love that this community is so helpful :-)

In addition to searching you could read the FAQ as well. Though I suppose it still has GWx2 in it.
