Merchant or salvage... collectors item FTW!

On second thought... can you salvage collectors items? I can never remember.

It was given to me by my brother and can be salavaged. Vampiric Bowstring was bought from someone and added to the bow. He sugested a sell it sicne I don't use it and need money. I tried 30k on the aucion and then 25k but it wouldn't sell so I would like to know what it is worth.

you cant salvage the mod back from a collectors item :/ only worth 5k imo because of the mod

what's a collectors item? I am totaly new to all this so I don't know much. If I can sell it for 5k then that's not too shabby, but my brother thinks it could be salavaged so I do not know.

its an item which u can get off a collector by trading certain amounts of materials with them

I don't know jack about bows, but if this is an early collector w/a decent mod added that can't be salvaged back, I think there's a little problem.

stuff is worth what it is because of what people pay for it, not any intrinsic value.
so, the mod might be worth 5k to people w/money because they can use it, but if the bow it's permanently attached to is crap, they can no longer use it, and people who would be happy w/a bow of this calibre can't afford the 5k.

I think the market kind of breaks down into 2 groups:
those w/money, and nearly broke noobs.
in the first group, your item is worth whatever you can get them to pay, but for the second it will never be worth much because they just don't have it.
know your audience.

this is also a reason why fortitude mods seem so overpriced, I think.
because people will pay it --- not because they're that good.

It's a max damage bow, I think that would make it worth more but I don't know if any part of it came from a collector.

all ascalon bows are collectors. this only cost around 500g-1k to craft but poeple would much rather craft the 15>50 ascalon bow, the reason i say its worth 5k is because of the max vamp u added, it can only be changed not salvaged but for some1 looking for a max bow vamp then this bow is worth 5k to them imo

you might want to think about marketing a particular group, like starting off w/"great bow for r/mo or r/me".
like I said, I don't know red engine about bows, but it seems like your value would be in the +15% while enchanted, if you address the appropriate group.
and there are probably a decent amount of /mo and /me floating around.

I'd think even max dam collector would get passed over by the monied crowd in favor of similar golds that seem to litter the streets.

ok thanks for the advice I might try auctioning it for 4k minimum bid and see what happens.
