Hello all... I've just come back to GW after about 5 years away, and I have my two characters which I played with.
The first is an Ele which I created in Prophecies, did a fair bit of Factions with (though I never could get into Factions), and he's done a fair chunk of Nightfall.
The second is a Warrior created in Nightfall who I last saved in Lions Arch after transporting him over to Tyria. Now it's been years since I was with the story lines, but I just wondered if someone could fill me in on the story that brings Elonia characters to Tyria? Is there a story out there, or do you just run round doing the same quests as the original Prophecies game had...? It's just I'm struggling to find missions.
I purchased EotN when I logged in to see what was going on, the story and the weapons etc is so advanced from when I left I'm thinking coming back was a bad idea; I should have just waited for GW2!!
Is there any way of getting up to date with the stories etc without creating a new character and playing all over again?
Daft question; NF -> Proph.

There is some sort of explanation that accounts for your character going to Tyria, but once you are there, the storyline is the same as the original. In some earlier parts of the game it will say that you are "reliving the events that happened in Tyria".

wiki should have all the answers but getting back into the game is pretty easy.
Beating the three games and EotN is pretty much just the first step, then you can look into if you want to pursue titles, then get into GW:B content after beating EotN.

Mhenlo is standing in the Consulate Docks outpost to recruit NF characters to lend a helping hand against an undead invasion in Kryta. When you arrive in LA, you see Armen the Guide, who will have a primary quest telling you to go to D'Alessio Seaboard to check in with the White Mantle. This puts you on the same story track that Prophecies characters follow upon reaching LA.

Excellent, thanks very much for the replies.
Forgive the ignorance, but what's GW:B...?

It's a common acronym for Guild Wars Beyond.
