I totally didn't intend to start War in Kryta on my Ritualist farming character. All I recall doing was finishing EotN recently. Yet, last time I went into the Black Curtain to farm for dust, the place had a bunch of Peacekeepers keeping me away from my goal.
Any way to get out of this situation without finishing the whole War in Kryta?
I seem to recall having to go through a bunch of dialogue sequences on my main just to get entrance into the WiK. Has anything changed?
WiK started and that makes my farming character sad.

Nope you have to finish it!

There is a quest you can take from Murro in LA that cuts out some of the dialogue scenes.
It's not that bad, watch a bunch of dialogue, Kieran's picnic quest (you don't need the perfect items now, 3 of the regular ones will get you through too), kill the 3 inquisitors, Riverside Assasination (very easy), A Little Help From Above (party wipe after finishing the first boss you'll rez by Zinn and can skip all the pop ups), Temple of the Intolerable (this one is a pain, lots of patrols, but doable), then the escort run (charge/fallback/incoming on 2 or 3 heroes set to avoid, bring sig. of spirits or a fast casting aoe snare if they get too close) and then Battle for Lion's Arch. Easy to do in a couple nights of playing.
They also made BLA much easier. I have been getting a bunch of characters on 2 accounts through this for a bunch of oppressor weapons and I'm mostly doing it with my main (spirit spam) and n/rt healer, n/mo mm/heals, ineptitude mesmer, panic mesmer, with something on my 2nd account if things get a bit hairy (Ursan Blessing if I had it was nice). Mostly only BLA was it a problem, just remember to fight among the NPCs, they help a lot.

Kingcrab - there is a way but it means 1 of 2 things.
1. if you have a 2nd account and multi run clients - just add a non wik chr from other account then they can either map out or stay.
2. This only applies if you have 1 account and no multi client runner - see if a friend or guildie has a non wik chr and bring them along then they resign or stay.
Unlike Woc - wik has it preset that if a team member isnt wik enabled then wik will not produce wik foes which means you can dust farm easily.
Tbh you can do wik in a few hrs now as a lot of running around was removed ( like old way u had to visit the camp several times in succession and now its 2 trips only ).

You could just use another character to farm for dust there until you complete WiK. I don't know how fast you clear the Nightmares on your Ritualist, but I can clear them in 8 minutes or less on Ranger or Necromancer (NM). Any/Rit should be able to dispatch them quickly. There's a PBAoE Fire ele build on PvX, too.

With a RiT, the final quest Battle for Lion's Arch will be easy. Blaze DVD put it well on the rest. In BLA you must fight on the stairs leading up toward Princess Salma's area. I used spirits to do a lot of the stair blocking. Add to that a hero Necro with Flesh Golem and Wells to sing on the stairs. N/Rit to heal ala Sabway. Three more heroes, AoE is the name of the game.

Thanks for all the advice. I've been through WiK on my main character so I know roughly how long it takes. I didn't want to have to go through it again just to farm one of my conset materials. I think probably it's best for me to try another dust farm for a while or use another character. If it was just the final quest for WiK then I wouldn't mind since that one was fun, but I recall listening to lots and lots of dialogue that I'm not as interested in a 2nd time.
I must say I'm happy that WoC doesn't automatically start the way WiK does. I think it's better if the additional content is optional, so you can pick the characters you want to experience it. I imagine they changed that intentionally.

The dialogue is a bit much, but it's easy enough to just surf the web for the few minutes they jabber on for and then get on with it. It's really only the very start where you have to listen to dialogue.
I agree about how WoC handled starting the content better. I had to get my 2 dervishes through WiK because I forgot about this and I use them for running to towns in proph.
It's still pretty quick, gets you an oppressor weapon for HoM (the 90 war supplies (if you do the inquisitors in HM) converts to 3 medals with 15 war supplies left over + the 7 from quest rewards = 10 medals of honor), and gives you 23 royal gifts that are going for about 4k each right now, not to mention the 17k gold from the quest reward and any drops from doing the content.
