Why all of a sudden big surge of buying Nicholas Travelers Gifts?

I just noticed it this morning several players buying up ALL travelers gifts? Is there some new item going to be given when opened?

Nic is at near the end of his Journey, so it might just be. But your guess is as good as mine.

The gifts are basically a form of gambling and with the state of the game and for some that have plenty of money to burn it is a way to keep things exciting and actually do something in game rather than just chat. I think it is just people trying to take that investment and hit it big.

If it's the thrill of gambling people are after, they would be better buying up Z Keys because the only real valuable items from Nic are the minipets and tonics, unless of course, consumables are their vice.

My guess is that a lot of people are doing it now because it's a viable way to get consumable points for titles for the Hall of Monuments.

For me, it's what's been making my Mondays happy. It always takes me to some unexpected location, makes me appreciate a different place in the game, thus I'm a pack rat and I love opening presents

Edit: I'm retarded, you were talking about BUYING them. In that case I think it may be people trying the odds to get more specific items. I would, if I had the money, again because I love opening presents
