Im new to guild wars and this is my second mmo so im not sure how the game and the two expansion packs work from what i understand it works like morrowind and tribunal and bloodmoon, is this correct? anyway i wanted to be a ritualist on prohpicies and i was wondering if that was possible. I would also like a few tips for starting out as i currently have one charecter who is a ranger and is waiting his second proffession so i can choose ritualist.

You can only start a Ritualist in Factions, but you can travel to Prophesies or Nightfall after you reach the mainland.

the 3 standalones games have the 6 core professions.

Factions have Ritulist and assasin + 6 core

Nightfall has Dervish ..Paragon + 6 core

AS above has said you can travel to any of the standalones when u reach the port city on mainland

Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall are all standalones, not expansions. Though, they can act as expansions to each other since a character created in one can travel to another and do the story there.

The only expansion is Eye of the North.

not sure what you mean by priorities but if you are referring to the attributes you can change those freely, so just look at your build and put your points into the att you use most. It is likely to be marksmanship for lower level in proph I think. You will also want some points in expertise as it lowers your energy costs. You will find it helpful to read this

As for waiting for your second prof for rit there is really no point. Later in the game you can change your second profession whenever you like. For now most people would probably take monk as it give you access to a rez.
