Actually, I'm going to buy the Complete Edition of Guild Wars which includes all 4 Expansions in one code. I had made an account about 5 years ago, but never really got into the game. Now that I really want to get into it, I don't know if I should create a new account or add the Complete Edition's code to my old account.
Will adding the code to an old account create any problems or not get Anything I would get from just creating a new account.?
i.e, not getting the FULL 8 char slots from the start.
Reason I would prefer to keep old acc is for the cool birthday gifts that piled up
Thanks all.
Happy Gaming.
Merging Prophecies with Trilogy ?

you wont have any problems....I added the collectors editions on to my account long after I had been playing with the regular versions and had no problems.
though having 2 accounts is also fun--I have more than one account as well (got that complete collection for a cheap price a while back).
so you can keep the old account--and play on it, you can add the new code to that account (it will only add the chapters/expansion you dont have--you wont get double slots from having 2 copies of prophecies).....its really your choice (I have done both myself)

Ok, cool. That was my main concern. Thanks I guess I'll learn why it's cool to have more than one account once I get more into the game, but for now, I'm gonna add the code to my existing account.
I was looking for someone that had experience with this and I'm glad I got a reply from someone that did exactly what I'm concerned about. Thanks again.

I upgraded my trial account with Prophecies and at a later date I bought the trilogy but could not add it since I already had added Prophecies.
I actually had to start over with a new account to be able to use my trilogy code and get access to the campaigns.
On the upside, the characters on the upgraded trial account could basically have four legs and go "hee haw" now.

@Ishmel - there should have been no problems with adding your Trilogy key to your old account. Many people posting on here have done it, with no mention of problems. But, of course, there could be some situations that prevent it.
@OP - Unless you have something preventing you from adding the key, once you do, there should be no problems with conflicts and you should get the full 8 slots (but not 8 more slots, just a total of 8) and the /bonus items, etc.

@Quaker hmm, yeah sounds like I shouldn't have any issues adding it to my old account and that's just what I'll do Thanks for clarifying things for me and taking any worries away.

Personnally I'd use the complete version as a stand alone version and keep the old acct as a mule acct. You will find as you really get into the game that you never have enough storage.

I would echo this. Unless you have some beloved characters on your existing account that you want to move forward with, or you have access to some of the rarer bonus items or emotes, it makes sense to start fresh with your Trilogy and keep your old account as a mule. You'd get twice as many free Zaishen Keys that way.... Double the Nick gifts (when he's in Prophecies).... Extra storage....

Hm....More storage sounds lovely > Since I had already tied it to my first account, I went back to the store I bought it from and said it was defective so they gave me a new copy with a new access key And now I have two accounts with a bunch of storage space :] Thanks for opening my eyes to why having a mule account is awesome
