Should I keep my ele?

Earth appeals to me for some reason. It's currently in pre and probably not going to for ldoa that titles sucks. My main is a necro because they basically destroy any target with ease, but im getting bored. Have a sin too. I can't decide if i want to use a earth ele, KD war, or paragon. I dont really like dervs or mesmers for pve. A ritualist would be the if i cant decide just because I feel like it.
TL;DR war|ele|para|rit, what to play? what would be the most fun?

Any profession would be fun and have their own strong.
If you follows the news in GURU, you may already know Anet are going to do something with Ele. And that may give you a reason to keep it.
btw, why not make all of them and try them out.

It depends on your playstyle. I'd ditch the ele for now.
Earth is pretty bad though:it's only usable with AP or you have 20+ cooldowns and 3 second casts. See http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/e...t10492787.html
A warrior is a different playstyle but it's definitely workable to have a hammer warrior.
With rits you will either play spirit spam (ST,SOGM,SoS), Spirit channeling resto, or some resto/channeling hybrid.
If you like hexes and armor ignoring stuff I don't see why you don't make a mesmer: Keystone is probably the biggest spike build right now for speedclears and Panic is in every group for DoA. It should make it easy to find groups.

My first character was an earth ele, and I've had a great deal of fun with him. After I got a bit jaded with my first three characters (ele, ranger, monk), I rolled a rit, which I also enjoyed. My latest, not quite a year old, is a para that I'm taking to GWAMM. All have been fun.
Both the rit and the para are Survivors done the old-fashioned way (missions and quests), and I can say the para was far, far easier to get to Survivor. If you're interested in that title, I would definitely recommend the para. However, the para doesn't have much build flexibility, so the main source of fun is playing with different team compositions and builds for the heroes.
The thing I love about my earth ele is the flexibility. Many possibilities there for damage and utility, and he is a good farmer (though he was better before the nerf of Sliver Armor). Edit: I definitely do NOT agree that earth eles are "pretty bad" and "only usable with AP". An ele does make a good AP discord caller, but I have done plenty with various earth builds even in HM. (Unsteady Ground is a great elite, especially when you bring along the Earthbind spirit as well. With this setup you can KD anything, including Shiro and Dhuum.) An ele also makes a pretty good SoS rit, second only to an actual rit.
The rit can be pretty flexible, too, but you'll mostly end up playing SoS channeling I fear. That can get a little dull after a while -- throw up spirits, kill everything, move on, hit Summon Spirits, rinse and repeat -- but the damage output is great.

I didn't hear this. Any speculation on what they're going to do? I think I might make a Ritualist.
Also, I'm not concerned with speed clears or farming, just plain PvE enjoyment most likely with heroes.

Any profession can truck through HM content. Eles are strong in air magic right now, mainly Invoke builds. When the HM update hits armor will be lowered on mobs to the same in NM but have higher health. This will put Eles on par with armor ignoring damage and then there's the skill updates anet has said they will do for Eles. What it boils down to is do you like the class. If you like it then roll with it, if not keep or delete and move on.
Currently Mesmers and Rits are the strongest classes with Necros right behind them. Sins have the potential to do good single target damage that's mostly armor ignoring due to their high damage attack chains and then there's SF farming(ugh).
Warriors are the underestimated class. Most Warriors are bad so it gives them a terrible name. A high armor level warrior can withstand quite a bit of hate and Im not talking about a tank build with Defy Pain. Hammer is strong because of Earthshaker and knockdown chains and a good warrior can keep SY up permanently on a party. Warriors Endurance is also one of their best elites.

What about a Dwarven Battle Stance war? Are those fun?

I personally would roll the ele they are getting a revamp and they are incredibly fun to play imo. Asking things like what would be the most fun.. clearly the answers are going to be biased so do you really expect to get a real answer out of that? Try them for yourself.

I have multiple eles. I enjoy playing them ....it was my first character and I still have her 6 years later.
The question is: what do you enjoy doing? ANY character can play thru the whole game with heroes. You can always make one of the others, play it for a bit and decide if you like that play style better---in the end, its your choice, what we tell you is just our opinions.

Yes keep it. Unless you need the character slot (sounds like you only have 3 toons made), I would not delete it. Use it for storage and collect b-day presents while you develop other characters you might enjoy playing. Then, when you need the slot more than an ele, kill it with fire.
Not that it matters but I first used Earth with my ele and prospered. Now when I use it I echo chain EVAS. Or run a domination bar. Good luck with your choice

I don't know about Dwarven Battle Stance because you need close to max Dwarf rank to have it maintained (my warrior hasn't been used that much in EoTN and I tend to run axe with dismember+cyclone axe +Whirlwind attack for old-time's sake to trigger splinter weapon, unless running 100B or D-slash). You could use it with Power attack/protector's strike/crude swing and low adrenaline attack skills (Auspicious Blow / Whirlwind Attack for example) for interrupts. Single-target interrupts that hinge on attack skills aren't that great so you basically hinge on Crude Swing + Whirlwind attack.
The +40 armor won't help if you have an imbagon on the team due to the armor stacking cap.
I'd probably run something like:
Normally you have Enraging Charge to get an adrenaline boost but you can't add it here because you might mess up and cancel Dwarven Battle Stance.
If you run hammer, I'd rather have AoE knockdowns because it's something that's harder to come by and the KDs last 3 seconds with stonefist insignias, but I guess AoE interrupts are sort of the same thing. It would be a tradeoff of adrenaline vs energy. The Crude Swing/Whirlwind attack interrupt is more on-demand compared to Earthshaker, although with larger mob sizes I'd say Earthshaker would be better since adrenaline builds quicker.
The Dwarven battle stance warrior template doesn't compete with Keystone Signet mesmers very well (ranged AoE interrupt) but it can bring "Save Yourselves!" and if you have a teammate put Great Dwarf weapon/Splinter Weapon+Strength of Honor on you, it's better damagewise and more robust.
As far as the ele goes, people say to keep it and whatnot but from what you wrote it seems you have 2 characters (N/,A/) and the ele is brand new (pre). A character in pre is either going for LDOA or a waste of a character slot because you can't use it for storage.

Yes, with 14 str, rank 8+ deldrimore and dwarven stability you can have Dwarven Battle Stance up 100% of the time. You will not need any IAS or armor boosting skills as well so it frees up a lot of room on your skill bar. You can utilize DBS to its fullest with Crude Swing and WW attack, interrupting all adjacent mobs.
@LifeInfusion: 14 strength is recommended bc sentinals requires 13 strength and how often are you going to group with peeps unless you doing zaishen quests.

IMO: You're getting +40 armor from DBS... that's like a shield + "Stand Your Ground!"/"I am Unstoppable!" (which is the extent of armor boosts I use). -20 armor vs elemental damage, from Weakness, isn't going to be that dangerous and that's what Foul Feast is for .
Although you do have a point: 14 Str would put DBS at 11seconds.

All the classes are fun to play. But if you are more concerned about playing something that may be more effective out of all the classes then that's when it matters. Also, playing something that is currently "meta" does make it easier to get into pug groups, as well as certain sc or farming groups.
An ele is be pretty enjoyable to play and is decent in getting into random pugs. I'd say give it a shot. After all, there was probably a reason why you picked that class in the first place.

Multiple Char Slots says hi: make them all and find out which one do you prefer before erase one of them. I kept and tried my Derv for 3 months before realise i didn't like it at all. Now i'm having great fun with my brand new Ranger...

Keeping my ele for sure. Had one since more than six years ago. Been through a lot of nerfs, always a way to keep it rolling. Right now, excellent feather farmer.
Really hard to tell at early levels how good a character will be in high game with hero backup. Assassin is death on two legs and reasonably sturdy once you get Flashing Blades.
If you must make a decision right now, Hammer Warrior. Get it all for the Hammer Warrior and KD through the game!

It's been said before, but the only way to know what YOU find the most fun, is to actually try it.
I personally ditched my warrior in pre at level 17. I know I never experienced the real game as a W, but I just found it didn't fit my style of play.
I deleted my ele after doing maybe 75% of nightfall. Didn't fit my taste either. (altough I am using an earth and water hero on my assassin character now, just for the fun of running something other than usual ).
Ritualist is pretty versatile, so you can change the play around to how you wanna play at the time (offence, defence, heal).
Paragon was an aquired taste for me. I completed NF and she was then used as storage, but now she is my second toon to go for GWAMM^^.
So yeah, just my two cents, but in the end the only one who knows what you will find to be fun, is you. So give them all a try
