Hey everyone! I've been playing GW on and off for a few years now, starting playing back when Factions was released. Beat it as Nightfall was released (a long time, I know...PvP and holiday events kept me away from doing the main storyline for quite a while) and started on NF. Nearly beat NF, then accidentally deleted that character. Started over and almost completed NF when EotN was released, and I played and beat that. Somewhat burned out, I took about a year off of Guild Wars. Upon returning a few months ago, I finally completed the Nightfall campaign. However, I've yet to complete what most people see as the most epic campaign of Guild Wars, Prophecies! Recently I started a new Warrior in a Prophecies and am working through that know. I just reached Yak's Bend...not bad, but so far Factions is still my favorite— most likely because that was my first Guild Wars experience, and will forever feel magical because of it...
Does anyone out there still play GW anymore?

Well, yeah. 99% of everybody on these forums plays (probably). Have fun, don't cheat with the wiki, and don't expect much in-game help unless you join an active guild. Welcome back and just go DO IT!

Just wanted to comment on the "magical" part. It does depend on where you start. I started my Ranger the day Prophecies went live more than 6 years ago. In those days the difficulty was somewhere between what is now normal mode and hard mode.
I will never ever forget the journey from Ascalon to Piken Square. There was no guide in those days. Must have taken me four or five attempts. When I at last hit the zone gate it was a real feeling of accomplishment. I have hated Charr ever since!

The essence of Guild Wars, this quote is. To the Willie Nelson dude you must listen.

there are plenty of people still playing, some of us have been around for many years, there are also a bunch of newer peeps who have gotten interested due to gw2 ....
(I remember the guides--the prima ones for prophecies and factions, they didnt make one for nightfall ---these were what we used for finding our ways around, before any wikis).
