Idea for AFK Legendary Survivor

It seems people are charging 45e a run for this now in the services forum. I cant believe people are paying so much for something they can do themselves.

Yes, a hassle free, half the cost (or more) of Kath hammers, no required skills or anything, professional run of survivor rank 3 for 45e is surprisingly popular. You might think it's too expensive, but 30 people and counting disagree with you.

Also, I would like to add that all the money I am making from these runs is going toward buying HoM points for my friends and guildies, I'm not just amassing wealth for no reason or for my own jollies.

Now, on to the relevant stuff. You guys are really over-complicating things. The fact that I can run this with a leech and have no problems with aggro or dps means this can be done safely and reliably, and I only ever use the 2 mesmers as dps. More dps than that and the waves can die TOO fast which will cause the scroll to have a chance of falling off. I also use half the buffs that you guys have listed. I do use grails, however. My run takes 20min of setup and 8 hours of AFK farming in normal mode, with 2 people gaining xp. Throw in a 3rd mesmer for Hardmode and doing this Solo should take a lot less time. (4hours ish?)

Anyway, I may adjust my service to have a cheaper alternative where I teach people how to run this themselves, but it is far from hassle free as it requires a specific team build, all the heroes runed, grails, scrolls, and the two proccing items. Until then, I hope my hints helped, and those that have problems with this run, you have the means to get this title from my service.

I've set up Tlam's version perfectly twice. It works all the way up until the first couple titans respawn while one or two dervs remain, and my energy as a warrior cannot regenerate fast enough to maintain enchantments. I'm fairly positive this can be done with any class with higher regen (ie: every other class but war), but 2 pips just isn't enough.

Maybe I spoke too soon.

Tlam's version works just fine when I as a warrior don't try enchanting everything and its brother too.

Set this up, I've done a single run with my own self, and a run for my girlfriend. The latter took significantly longer as I varied up the build and used 3 mesmers for damage, dropping QZ. This had the secondary effect of having 5 chars inside the aggro bubble for XP, though. Going to roll back to dual keystones for running others, run the original ranger + bonds to prevent aggro breaks (vital blessing, others), along with the BiP on the Rit.

Got an alternative to run people that's promising. All in all, with the core premise of Tlam's setup, it's amazingly easy to get this rolling..

This is another way to do Legenday survivor but it is not as nearly as fast as HM Vaettir farm with scrolls it takes you 38 zone in zone out with scrolls ANY proffession. Very simple and very fast.

You missed the point Daesu. Neither Djoser's post nor my response to it had or have anything to do with vaettir farming. He hinted at a specific method of easily farming xp and used vaettirs as a time comparison, nothing more. I only prompted him to share his super-secret method (a method apparently useable by any class, is slower than vaettirs, and which requires zoning 38 times into and out of... somewhere).

I know this is an old thread, but I just came across it yesterday and gave Tlam's way a half assed attempt in normal mode. took me 2 runs to figure out the placement in normal mode and to remember the grail :P once I popped the grail everything just worked. took longer then 4:45 though - took a little over 6 hours in normal mode with a Berserkers Insight scroll (3696 xp / minute VS the 4800+ in HM).

Didn't expect to be getting a constant 0 damage - and the degen from bleeding & fire only does about 30 dmg.

Thank you everyone for figuring this out, and posting the details. With my play style, I'd NEVER hit R3 (I tend to kilroy everything, even on my magic users).

Congratulations It's been a while since I last tried this method and failed miserably I had to get survivor killing Vettir's but it is great to know there are still other methods still working!!!
