I know it's possible to switch around from one campaign to another. What I'd love to know is if I start in Prophecies campaign as a warrior, but never choose my secondary class, and then move to another campaign, say Factions, would I be able to pick up a 2ndary mastery from that campaign (like Ritualist or Assassin)? I'd like to be a Warrior/Dervish, but would like to start out in Prophecies campaign.
Thanks in advance!

You can change your secondary profession later on in the game, it is not permanent. Once you unlock new secondaries you can change your secondary at any time in a town. So go ahead and pick a secondary, and later when you go to Factions/NF you'll be able to change your secondary to one that is exclusive to that campaign.

Thank you a ton!

You can change secondary class after you have ascended a rite of passage different for each campaign.
You pay in gold the first time you change to a new secondary class after that all you need to do is be in a town.
Note also you do not lose skills or animal companions when you change such things return when you change back.

in order to leave pre-searing in prophecies you are required to have a secondary. If you ascend in prophecies you can unlock the other core profession secondaries in the desert.

Ascended Prophecies characters can take quests to unlock each secondary profession or visit the Profession Changer. Characters from other campaigns without access to Prophecies can only unlock secondary professions at a Profession Changer for a fee of 500 Gold. Once a secondary profession has been unlocked, that character can freely switch between all the unlocked secondary professions via the Skills and Attributes Panel in any town or outpost, or by talking to a profession changer again. |

If you want to be a Warrior/Dervish and start out in Prophecies you must do the following:
1. Start out with some other secondary, you don't even have to use skills from it. Play (or get run) till the Crystal Desert.
2. Do the Crystal Desert Missions and become Ascended.
3. Go back to Lions Arch, get the Sunspears in Kryta Quest and do it in order to reach Kamadan.
4. Do the Nightfall questline until you have finished the quest Building the base:Prisoners of War.
5. In the Command Post talk to Zuwarah, she will let you become W/D for 500g fee.
This is a lengthy project, good luck

Its faster to just go to Lions Arch, travel to Cantha, and become Weh No Su. Then map to GtoB and take Dervish secondary from the profession changer there. No need to go all the way to the Desert (though you will want to head over there at some point in the future to pick up one of your 15 attribute point quests), getting ascended in Prophecies even from Lions Arch takes significantly longer than it would if you just head on over to Cantha with your Prophecies character.

Weh No Su is way faster for enabling the profession changer. If you have factions, it's definitely recommended.
