Hi

Looking for some info,
I and few of my friends decided to start playing an online MMO game we when to “Runes of magic” it’s free to play.
Any way not a bad game having fun BUT the it does cost get card diamonds ok that’s cool in all you it cost a lot of diamonds to get things you need to tier and leave your Armor and weapon up and the fail rate is about 15 to 1,(15 fail) .
So is this game anything like RoM does it have a better success rate for leveling your gear? We’re not into PVP 24 7 either is there areas that are PVE?
Thanks

quite the contrary, PvE is the main stronghold players choose to paly and PvP is also offered. PvE players when reached Max LvL(20) can choose to enter pvp just the same.
However, pvp characters get to have equipment instantly created and placed in inventory(if its unlocked) and best of all, Guild Wars is buy&play, no P2P(play to play) just buy, and install, yours forever!

it has a higher success rate considering its an entirely different game though.

i urge you to check previews for Guild Wars 2 as well and check out GuildWarswiki.com and gwpvxwiki to get a great standing in what builds and such as you get into the game.

Having All campaigns is very well worth it(Prophecies,Factions,Nightfall,Eye of the North)
however you do miss out alot on skills and a few professions and content currently released such as Winds of Change and War In Kryta.

any questions? need an item looked up

type in game like you would any emote
( forget parenthesis /wiki (item/quest here)

Where Runes of Magic is "free to play," they support their game with a cash shop, cornering you into paying for upgrades to stay viable with purchasable items and upgrades. These costs can add up, making the "free to play" label somewhat misleading.

Guild Wars is different. You have to initially pay for the account, but once you do it's free forever, with very little in the cash shop that actually has much in-game benefit. You don't have to pay real money for good armor or weapons, access to "special areas," or anything like that. Max armor and weapons are available to everyone. You can access all areas and skills that are a part of the campaign(s) you own (it's suggested to buy the complete set at once, since it's often cheaper that way).

You can buy extra character slots, extra storage space, pretty costumes, and character appearance changes in the cash shop, but these are mostly cosmetic or convenience additions, none of which are necessary for enjoying what Guild Wars actually has to offer.

There really are no hidden "gotchas" with GW. Once you buy the complete set (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North) and spend some time actually acquiring and unlocking the equipment and skills that are available to you through regular play, you are on the same playing field as everyone else. At that point, your success is measured by your individual skill as a player -- not how much money you have, in game or IRL. Which is how it should be.

Hi, and Welcome to Guildwars. No need to buy anything but the three campaigns, Prophecies, Factions, anf Nightfall plus you'll want the addon Eye of The North expansion. Skills are the most important part of the game. To understand them see:

http://www.guildwiki.org/Main_Page is a private GW wiki, a wonderful resource. The official wiki is available from ingame.

GW, no monthly fee. Buy game, free to play forever. GW 2 will be the same. Cash Shop is optional. In the going on 7 years I have played, spent $27 in the Cash Shop new character slots. Going to spend more there for another couple character slots. You get quite a few character slots with the game. Each character slot supports one playable character with an unlimited number of heroes.

Guild Wars is a very large game. Three Chapters plus one expansion is a lot of territory. PvE and PvP are completely separate.
