I'm going to feel like an @$$ if that's true. I just sold a stack. Why do people think it will be diamonds?

It's pure theorycraft, maybe because of Part 2 rewards (ruby+sapphire+diamond+onyx). If you go by the rewards though, you might as well stock up on lockpicks and silver zaishen coins. Or Imperial commendations, since that's what repeatable quests give.

I took WoC rewards as spoonfeeding for HoM and nothing more. Buying bulk makes more sense if you expect a surge in HoM fills at the inevitable GW2 release.

i have a theory that devs tell friends and buy up things themselves before we find out about it. they seem to run a loose ship. remember those reg pig minis that couldnt be given away for free were going for 10-15k the week before the trade in was known. more recently booze spiked a couple weeks before the timer was lifted. here's a hint booze never spikes. it gradually goes up as supply dwindles.

some power traders also try to control things by choice or just by doing business. arms would be down a lot now if it weren't for people constantly cashing in ectos for them as money holders. so now arms are back into the 22-24 range when they were heading south of 20 again.

buy em up and hope the trend continues or don't worry about it. cuz you have no control compared to the dev who insists that they use diamonds for their next weapon or armor crafter and then has his friends buy em up for cheap.

The real world works like this too.
