Strange how they still went for bonuses from WvWvW in GW2. I think they consider the core idea valid, but applied bonuses to the casual PvP instead of dedicated PvP.

It will be a laugh if it runs out in time for halloween when everyone wants to do Dhuum quests.

Yeah it will be pretty interesting to see what they have in mind as far as bonuses for winning WvWvW.

It worked well in DAoC. Actually it worked alright in the old days of GW.

Of course I'm not sure what reason for existing the favor mechanic has had for the past 3 years (that was when it was changed right?) or so. Favor clearly was intended to limit access to UW/FoW such that it couldn't be farmed non-stop (oops!), it simply could not be anything else. If favor time goes away this will only affect the least organized. The top speed clears have more scrolls than they know what to do with, lack of favor isn't going to affect them. Everyone else that hasn't been farming it to exhaustion is now going to have to acquire scrolls, which are sure to increase in price, or wait until they can re-enter.

Wow I noticed it going down slowly, but it's this low already!? Time to stock up on those scrolls!

I guess most people have all their titles for HoM already, and we're not getting many new players.

Seeing as buying blessings and/or scrolls for shrine bonuses or entering UW/FoW costs gold, I don't see the additional need of having the favor anyway.
My toons played through all chapters over the last 6.5 years, among which is one GWAMM, so if these gods don't deem me fit for eternal blessings about now, I don't know what will :P
And I think it's safe to say that goes for most players.

Considering how many scrolls are spawned whenever someone kills Dhuum, I don't think people will run into problems when favor runs out. At least, the SC guilds won't.

The loss of favor will impact the poorer non-SC guilds most. As you said, the SC guilds have the scrolls. Most other guilds that casually do UW tend to fail a lot.

So as usual, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Occupy Underworld!

I'm confused, doesn't the favor just allow you to enter UW etc. through the statues in chantry of secrets for 1k and without favor you have to buy a scroll which is about 1k anyways?

Favor adds cap on price of scrolls - when you have guaranteed 1k entrance fee, it is impossible to sell scroll from more than that. Market just can not beat infinite supply.

Without favor, scroll prices would likely raise well above 1k. And there is always danger of traders running ouf of scrolls.

Of course, there are people with stacks of them and succesfull run is guaranteed to create 7 extra scrolls, so it might not be as fast.

True, except for one bit: the scrolls are not created by the Rare scroll trader NPCs, they can only sell what the players sell to them (like the material traders) and therefore can run out of supply.

Haha well that explains it then... I didn't even realize that material traders etc. only sold what was sold to them.

I also tend to get a few on my raptor runs while farming for other things (though I get FoW scrolls more), so those will also be in the market right now since quite a few people are farming raptors for holiday drops.

Start hording the scrolls the end of days is upon us, why have the gods forsaken us.

Oh favor I forgot that you existed with all the HoM farming. I guess majority of players after 3-6 years have their god titles/ 30 to 50 points.

Try buying glittering dust for Canthan new year, when everyone crafts fireworks... it usually runs out soon. Also happens sometimes when Nicholas wants a rare material for his gifts...
