I just checked wiki, it says this:
Quote:
Favor is granted after players maximize their rank in twenty titles; there is no time limit to reach this. After earning 20 achievements, the gods will grant 60 minutes of favor and an additional three minutes for each additional achievement.
So it won't be off all the time anyways. And then there are the scrolls. I have been merching all these uw and fow scrolls I get, now maybe they will rise a bit in price but still be available for everybody who want. Even if trader is out there will always be players selling them for maybe 3 or 5k. Considering the income you get from a sc, it wont be any major cut in the earnings.

I don't see a problem here.

Just find a nice easy HM boss and farm him for a couple of hours and you'll have plenty of scrolls to keep you going, if not, then atleast any elite tomes/greens will pay for some

The problem is that it favors the haves. Those that regularly perform successful speed clears already have tons of scrolls and already didn't even pay the 1K to get into the zone. Those that are either more casual, just starting out, or just doing something different won't have access to this. With favor always active, there was very little difference between those groups. With favor being spotty it is going to make it harder (or at least more expensive) for the latter group to enter while making runs more profitable for the former group.

It also begs the question of what point favor even has. Favor at its root limits when people can enter UW/FoW, but also at this time no one is ever limited in when they can enter UW/FoW. And with scrolls it will never limit anyone in the future. All favor does right now is keep scroll prices lower. what point does favor even have?

Well, I just checked the favor a few minutes ago and it's at 3207 minutes. So much for a possible chance at hitting zero.

I think the events (Halloween, WIntersday, New Year, Birthday) are spaced out enough to ensure that we have constant favor until GW2 goes into open beta.

Now if we came back this time next year, I'd bet there would be a real concern over the lack of favor.

Only if GW2 isn't out by then

In 4 days we've gone from 3k to 16k minutes of favor. Are there really that many people maxing drunk, sweet, party & survivor? I can't think of any other titles that might tick over quickly during Halloween.

Someone who tried to hoard UW scrolls for threw a tantrum of sorts on alliance chat earlier this evening because he previously bought 2 stacks for 500k. My gl then said he was only a few hundred away from finishing drunk, sweets and a few % away for tyria + leg cart for lulz, and the guy properly lost it. Almost wished we shared vent.

Is this really surprising to you?

Think about how many forum posts we've seen from new players asking how to get 30/50 or 50/50 as quickly as possible. Think about how many old or returning players are just getting back into GW because they want to fill up their HoM (or, at least, tie up old loose ends, which often means completing titles) before GW2 hits. Now think about how it's possible, even likely, that GW2 will be available sometime in the first half of next year, which means this is the last holiday "season" for people to really work on these titles.

So yes, it makes perfect sense to me that we have thousands of people maxing their titles right now.
