So let me start off by saying it has been 5 or so years since i played last and i just got factions and NF. (I will be getting EotN soon) My main goal is just to get hall of monuments stuff completed.
My main was a warrior. Im worried the HoM thing for the completion of prophecies, NF, and factions wont work unless they are all completed on the same character. Is this so? I'd like to play an assasin. Should i reroll?
I am trying to do the quest currently in LA to get to the Night Fall area and i am failing miserably. I have mox hero in my party because he is the only one i could figure out how to get and 4 of the level 10 henchies. The enemies are level 22 and crushing me. What do i do?
I'm just trying to get throught the Night Fall missions and get some heroes because ive heard you can blow through everything with ease.
few questions

The Hero of... statues can be added just by finishing the respective campaigns. You could probably skip most of Prophecies and still get that statue. Another character could do Factions, finish the campaign, and add the statue. It would count toward your total achievement.
However, the Protector and Guardian statues can only be added once a single character has done all the missions and bonuses in a single campaign. One character would have to do all the Normal Mode missions and their bonuses in Prophecies to be able to add the Protector of Tyria statue. However, another character could do all the missions and bonuses in Normal Mode in Factions and be able to add the Protector of Cantha statue. Similar for the Guardian statues (Hard Mode). Your account would get the cumulative credit of those characters' accomplishments.
However, if you want to be able to add the Eternal Legendary Guardian statue, you would have to earn the Guardian and Protector titles -- all NM and HM missions, and their bonuses, in all three campaigns -- on a single character.

Somewhere there is a guide on getting to 30 in HoM. But while HoM is good motivation keep it in perspective. Some points in HoM are nice because you will get a title and some armor. These will identify you as a vet to other vets. The new players will not care.
Set a reasonable goal, say 10 points. Then go for another reasonable goal, say 15 points. Keep after it in small chunks. The most important thing is to have fun with GW 1. HoM can help you do that or it can become a terrible task master.
GW 2 is a very different game. After a month or two guilds will care more about how well you play your character than about goodies or titles from GW 1.
