Running in Towns/Outposts
Demonlord Matt
Hey guys. I just wanted to suggest a little thing that I wanted included in the game ever since I started. I thought it's be cool if we could use running skills, (Skills that increase running speed)and only those kinds of running skills in towns and outposts. So no running skills that also increased something else, or decreased something else. Now I know they have candy which gives you a sugar rush, but I wish there was just a way that Warriors for instance could use Sprint to get from point A to point B quicker in a non-explorable area. What do you guys think?

no don't like the idea of using the skills, you'd have to equip them everytime you zone in/out. sugar-rush is enough, or else if a place is really big those npcs that boost you like in the menagerie. nah candy is fine if you're bored of walking!

I have to say some of the layouts for some outposts are abysmal, but that's why you zone to your guild hall when you spend 5 minutes and still can't find the xunlai or merchant... Bad memories surfacing... I'm thinking Vasburg and Beacon's Perch.

I would have to say no for one reason.
Some classes have more/better running skills than others so when the dragon festival is on those with such skills will use them to avoid the grasps of insanity when carrying the celestial charges.
Would you class the dervish avatar of Balthazar as a running skill if so they would be running 33% faster all the time.
Nice idea but I think it would cause problems.

Why not walking in every town and outpost? Hmmmmm?

I'd think a better resolution would be having the player select from a variety of walking styles. Ex: Nonchalantly, calm, normal, fast, hyper.

There's sugar rushes for that. But they are expensive, and not available in all outposts.
Maybe they should increase the title from 10,000 to 50,000 uses, and sell some sugary item in all merchants for 40 gold per points instead 200gold.
40gold for running 5 minutes would do the trick.
That way you could run more often spending the same, so the overall price of the title would be the same.

/not signed...there is the sugar rush for just this reason. If you dont like the speed you are moving at, buy sweets. (and not all professions HAVE a running skill--and changing your 2ndary to one JUST for outpost movement is ludicrous)

how about instead of changing the titles, and everything. Just make a new item that gives you speedboost for cheap. Except it does not add to the title.

But the market for that is probably pretty small -- if people want a speed boost, they'd just use sugar. *shrug*

i wud love an everlasting run booster for town that you didnt have to click just have in inventory or better yet in storage.
you know you want it, liars.

Get rank 1, and you run 10% faster in outposts with the title selected. Get rank 2, and you run 50% faster in PvE outposts. No effect anywhere else, not even in PvP outposts.
After eating so many candy, one wouldn't be surprised if people got the effect permanently.
In fact, this could be extended to the drunkard too.
Rank 1, drunk effects last 100% longer when drinking with the title selected.
Rank 2, drunk effects last 1000% longer when drinking with the title selected.
This would come in handy when using PvE skills that benefit from being drunk.

But if you've drank a million ales, your tolerance should be super high so you shouldn't even get drunk on anything less than a keg at that point. The running makes sense, it's like you're training up for it. The drinking would have the opposite effect haha.

I like the idea of a non-instance based speed boost with title.
Have it only be 10%/25% though since as people pointed out it wouldn't be very fair during dragon festival.
Also make it so that candy does not stack with it (sugar rush with 25% boost, no change if title maxed).

But I feel sugar rush is plenty. And fair. So sorry, but I don't see the benefit.

People that are used to drink do not metabolize the alcohol faster, they are just less bothered by its effects.
But if you drink too often, the effects are actually longer on you, you just don't notice it so much.
So, in a way, reducing the drunk 'blur' would make more sense than making the drunk effect last more.
That could be another effect of the title, being able to drink without getting the blur, so you don't have to turn off post-processing while drunk.

Throw this effect or a similar one(maybe without the 10% movement decrease, just the speed negation) inside the Dragon Nest, and the title effects will be negated, not affecting anywhere else in the area.
