One dye to rule them...err, yea. Basically what this would do is combine with a colored dye to produce an effect like the chaos gloves or chaos axe only on the dyeable areas of armor. Obviously some armors would be more affected than others, but it could look nice of done right. Also, in the same vein, I was thinking about a "Margonite effect" dye. Would imbune your armor with the pulsating power effect seen in Abaddon's minions.

I would only support this if you had to pay for it with 75 ectos per vial.

I already think that glowing hands looks ugly... full glowing bodies everywhere would drive me crazy. I really don't think my eyes could handle it, so....

Cities full of neon-lit characters! Why not?

They should also add an epilepsy warning screen at login, in the vein of the early PSX games.

Chaos Dye should work like Saruman's clothes. I mean, the original Saruman from the book, who was not only Saruman the White, but also Saruman of Many Colors.
They should incorporate every hue out there and randomly display one depending on the viewing angle. It should be done in gradient-like manner, eg. the center of your armor is purplish and it mildly goes over into darkgreen to the right, and pink to the left.

considering the fact that the 'chaos' effect requires additional special polygon placements on existing armors to give the proper 'glow' effect, it would require a helluva lot of work to implement this (unless you just want the dye to remove any existing textures on a piece of armor and simply dye it bright white; Which would look terrible).

Also yeah, if it actually were implemented ANet would have to introduce welding masks to stop our toons from going blind.

Have you ever seen Cocoon?
Do you really want to look as lame as the aliens in that movie?

I wouldn't mind a slightly luminescent dye to dye things a bit like Tron clothing, but a chaos shine is TOO shiny.

I don't know about this one. Its just I spent on chaos gloves and I just wear them to show off I paid a lot. Something tells me I might feel ripped if chaos dye existed. However, the idea to merge chaos gloves with gloves I feel would be better. I personally wouldn't want my toon wearing all "chaos" dyed armor unless the dye just won't erase details on the armor sooooo.........

I don't think my retinas could handle that. Not to mention that cities would just become one large disgustingly bright glow.

No thanks. It would make the game very bland to look at, as everyone would be wearing the exact same coloured armours. Even if it were 75e a vial, 75e is not difficult to achieve in the current state of the game.

Of course, you could put the price up higher, but really I'd rather they add some cool functionality like being able to link your weapon to the trade channel to help tidy up trade spam.

Well, your solution is here! Its called Texmod... simple, easy, and won't assault the senses and sensibilities of everyone in the entire game. As a matter of fact I think Texmod is the solution for every one of these "gimme gimme gimme, more more more, wouldn't this irrelevant piece of fluff make us all omghaxorzcool!" threads. How about some suggestions relevant to game-play and in context.

Since when?... 75e is a heck of a sum of money for 99% of players. More than at least 90% collect over the entirety of gameplay (personal estimate based on guild mates/alliance mates). I've played for 5 years now and haven't obtained more than a total amount of 110-120e on my own, including full vanquisher titles and other such nonsense..

Anyways, a new dye type would be nice. A chaos-type effect could be cool, but without the massive glow addition - otherwise it'll be too hard on the eyes. An iridescent color, I believe it could be called. Depends on the amount of work involved in applying it to an armor set.
