Should i play this or Not?
miedy12
Hi guys last night i talked to my aunt if she can buy me a copy of guildwars complete collection or trilogy. But really bother if i can play this or should i wait for GW2 instead. Thanks in advance. I played this before but only trial and now i decided to play this now.
Also does wal-mart have a copy of complete collection or trilogy not online in store only or at least what you guys recommend to me a chapter only not all?

I think at this point it would be best to avoid video games in general and focus on your education and school work.

school > games, but:
* GW1 is still a fun game, but the game is played differently now then 5+ years ago as mamy (most?) players play solo with heroes and/or henchmen (computer controlled "players")
* when you have eye of the north too, you can work on your "hall of monuments" which will unlock some stuff for you in GW2
* i expect GW2 to be a very different game than GW1, but the GW2 story will probably have references to the GW1 storyline

wtf? i'm sorry to offend. but why even ask this? gw is going to continue after gw2 is released. gw2 is set hundreds of years in the future. gw2 is just an excuse to get us to blow more cash. i plan to buy gw2 but not right away. i can wait.
my advice is to buy the gw trilogy at the online store NOT steam version. wait until xmas to buy eye of the north (they will have it on sale by then) and you really can't use it until you get to level 20 anyway. then play have fun and wait until a birthday or something and hit the aunt up for gw2.
as for school what did that old college prof say? tune in and drop out. lol

lol dont orry about my school im fine hahaha. BTW im searching in wal-art or best buy but they're out of stock. My main concerned is it is ok to play this now even im too late and gw2 is comming that's why im bothering. so i think the question already answered. but my another concern is can i buy this game anywhere? partly in sacramento california wal-mart or what ever store. where i can buy this not online
EPIC noob
what is the issue with the "online purchase" you said you have the 10 hour trial correct? just toss the $30 at arenanet and you don't have anything to download it just kicks in and you are good to go. you can safely use all forms of payment with the online store. i buy a visa gift card and use that for myself. believe me you will want to use the online store because there are a lot of $3 to $5 addons you can get from extra storage to costumes and much more.

Getting just one campaign will cost as much or almost as much as the trilogy or complete collection these days. So, if you get just one campaign and end up liking the game, you'll have to pay a lot more to get the rest. It sounds like you've researched the game enough to make a good choice for your tastes, so I think you will end up liking it. You might as well get everything at once.

I would go for the complete version (all campaigns and eye of the north) as it gives you the total experience. But yes, the game is 6.5 years old so it can be hard to find it on regular shops. However i am pretty sure that there are stil webshops who sell it (hopefully with a paying method that you can use).
I am euro and i dont have a creditcard either... luckily for me my parents have one which i can use when i want to buy things in the gw online shop or webshops.
However i often play with an USA friend who doesnt have a creditcard either. But he still can buy stuff in the same shops using "giftcards". I am not familiar with giftcards, but i assume those are cards that you can buy in regular shops and then use them elsewhere (like on the internet).... ?!
Good luck getting your copy of GW...
Btw, the webshop i use most is zavvi.com (webshop is located in the UK!!)... i just checked it for gw products. It still has GW trilogy for 18.45 euro (porto costs outside the UK are fixed to 1.15 euro?), but it also show GW2 for 36.95 euro... to be released at march 30th 2012??

thanks godh i hope she will get one wow that alot

GW2 will very likely be with us by Summer 2012 so for me the decision would be based on 2 things.
Will I still play gw1 after gw2 arrives and if not is filling the hall of monuments important enough to buy the game.
If by buying gw1 now it would mean I couldn't afford to get gw2 on release then I would wait.
Its still a very good game with a good number of people playing and its fairly cheap.

You could always purchase a pre paid visa/MasterCard and use that.

I think half of all new threads on this forum now are "Hi, should I buy this game?" Need a sticky to point them to...
