Connecting to ArenaNet...

I've read a lot of threads in a lot of furums on a lot of different websites and I've found a lot of people having the same problem as me though I have yet to find a solution. I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I'm now trying to reinstall Guild Wars and expansions. The installation starts when a grey box opens that says "Guild Wars" accross the top and at the bottom it says "Connecting to ArenaNet...". The bar fills up almost completely then it freezes. That's it. I'm unable to install the game.

This is what I've done so far and nothing's fixed the problem:

- Turned off all firewall
- Set blocks to exept gw.exe
- Reset winsock
- Refreshed ISP's DNS server
- Opened TCP ports 80 and 6112
- And I have no PeerBlock/PeerGuardian

Now I'm at a loss. If anyone know's what the problem is please let me know. If there are some more steps I have to take and you know the directions please explain it step by step like I'm a four year old.

I have windows 7 and I downloaded GW from the internet for free, I suggest you do that (just type Download Guild Wars for Free into your search browser). Also If you have an account already (with exccess to all your expansions) you only need to download GW once. If you have further issues you might wan't to contact microsoft support as this is most likely an issue on your end then.

I've tried downloading it online from the site but it's the same thing, the same grey box pops up that freezes when trying to connect to ArenaNet. It seems it needs to connect to ArenaNet in order to install but it's not. Basically what it comes down to is, it's not an installation problem so much as it's a problem connecting to the site. I read in one of the many threads I came across today that ArenaNet had blocked some IP addresses I guess accidentally at one point or something. That was a while ago but it's also been a while since I've played.
