So last time I logged in was about a week ago, no problems then. Now I try to log in to catch the Halloween finale and I can log in and choose a character fine but it stays at 0% loading the instance. I've run -image and have no conflicting firewalls etc. and in all the years I've played Guild Wars not come up against something like this.
Kind of pissed that I might miss the Halloween finale.
Can't get into town/an instance.

On occasion takes me up to a minute to see login to an area like Lion's Arch start during an event. Does this happen with all instances even those not part of the event?

The longer your away the longer it takes to load in simple as that. it should fix its self after a little while if not you are quite unlucky.

There have been only minor updates since I last logged, and like I said they've been downloaded fine. I'm also not trying to get into any major areas (Tried characters in Guild Hall/miscellaneous outposts). Other games are working fine so it's not my internet.

Could be an issue with the server its trying to log you in on. Shutdown your firewall and simply keep trying. When you do get in it's probably a good idea to switch districts

Like I said, have gone down the firewall/conflicting program route and Guild Halls don't have districts. Really quite annoying...
