Reward for top (25) 100 Scarred Psyche?

Hello all, for those who missed it out, this year there was a Challenge Mission called Scarred Psyche. As the other event based challenge (Rollerbeetle Racing) There has to be a reward linked to it(minipet: Greased Lightning) . Why else make the competition with a ranking ladder on a once a year event?

There are aswell other challenge missions in Guild Wars but they dont give a reward. But those are all year there. And this one isn't. Are we expected to get at least for the top 25 something? It would have been fair because I spend days just to get in the list.

i think urs just greedy . events over, dont make another gold sink. ur rewards were moeny and tot bags, others are just gamer points. thats enough

For rollerbeetle racing you also got gamer points AND victory tokens(for consumables comparable to ToT) and Skeleton fArming gave way more ToT bags then this+ more money so what are you talking about?

People who actually formed a team and organized it and spend hours for playing to get in the top 100 deserve to get something better then just the standard reward (which is really low and it was even LOWER before the update)

To make a ranking for people who like to play it competitively, so that they feel a sense of accomplishment when they make others bite the dust? Why must there always be a material reward (well, material ingame ><) before some people feel happy? Don't you feel good about beating so many others who were trying to defeat you?

I didn't play the mission alot because I didn't find it all that fun, so I wouldn't get a mini (or whatever the reward would be) anyway. So I don't really care either way personally. But maybe it's better to feel good about what you accomplished, instead of QQ'ing when you don't get a cookie for it.

There was a reward for Top 25. Actually, everyone got a Mini Mr. Gumdrops, The Noble Steed. Because he is invisible, so is the icon in your inventory! Congratulations!

Only the Canthan New Year Rollerbeetle race has a mini associated with it, the other 2 times that it's available there isn't a mini to win.

It would be nice to have a new mini in the game but these days there's not a whole lot of skins they could choose to use, and tbh i think the gamer points and ToT's were enough of a reward.

this doesnt give gamer points because its not pvp, which rollerbeetle racing is. if you based your efforts to get into the top 25 on hoping for a new mini then unlucky, and why? anet would have said something about rewards if there was going to be one.
you and they guy whining about the finale length should get together and have a cry about Anet being unfair.

There was a formualted reward based on rank already:

You already got more than people not ranked as high.

SP has more in common with the 4 challenge missions in Factions than RBR tbh.

The high score list currently suffers from the same issue that the list to RBR once had: duplicate names on the list all over the place. Even entire teams composed of the same players existed on the list. This cuts down on the number of prizes that other players can earn, and in a worst case scenario would award players multiples of an award. This might suggest that the developers decided not to award some kind of prize for the top 100 times because they didn't have a solution for the duplicates, and thus didn't want to give out a prize for a "faulty" list.

One solution that I thought of just now would be to award a set of prizes to members of the fastest team of each guild. It would be like the RBR list, except instead of having players take up positions, it would be guilds. This still runs into some problems. Players who are fast enough at finishing the mission, but aren't as fast as another group in their guild would be shut out from prizes. Guesting may or may not become an issue. People who play with heroes and get fast times would shrink the number of awards by how many heroes they won with. It's a rough system for giving out awards in, and your best bet of seeing a top 100 reward added to the format would be to think of some solutions to the reward issue.

The biggest red flag for anyone who thought there was a top 100 reward for this in comparison to RBR should have been the lack of a [Rewards] NPC. There was no kind of "Little Jack" in this outpost to give players a prize for getting a top time, and while this could have been added later, RBR set the precedent the first season by having Little Jack be there from the start to say something like, "I'm going to give out a special prize for people who do really well at this!". If ANet didn't say there was a reward and didn't put anything in that would directly suggest that there is one, then it probably doesn't exist. Sorry to everyone whose hopes I got up!

not to mention there are several other challenge missions in all campaigns, dragons throat remains of salahja, u give one for this, u give one for them....ectos dropped in the psyche...close this thread Hawke, ur reason is enough to do so.

The reason why ectos dropped in the psyche is because its a remake of a level from the Tombs of the primeval king. Propably remodeled foes. (therefore being able to drop ectos). It would not be hard AT ALL to determine who gets a prize and who doesn't. People do the same thing at rollerbeetle racing, using multiple accounts to get more minipets. This is not a issue. It's not hard to implement a npc after the event who shows the ranking list and if your in it you get a present in the form of a tonic or minipet. And again Lithril, THOSE you just named are ALL YEAR ROUND CHALLENGES! It makes no point to give a big reward to it in something you can practise all year round.

Prove me why we shouldn't get a minipet if it is exactly the same kind of structured pvp/pve format like Rollerbeetle Racing.

Make it in such a way you can only get 1 prize per account. Is it that hard to implement that?

So your saying we whine? Okay so let's say Rollerbeetle didn't give a minipet at all but your ranked #1 in the list because you did your best and you spend alot of time on it. Don't you think you deserve something as a reward? Like in REAL LIFE maybe? (Form of a cup/tshirt/grand prizes RL examples)

Nope I like being number 1 in RBR because it gives me a warm glow in my characters heart.

not really. im pretty sure that you should just be be happy with being the best at it. and no of course you shouldnt deserve something irl for something in game. especially when rollerbeetle racing isnt a spectator sport, so your teh only one getting anything out of it anyway. i could make the same argument about any other record in guild wars, almost none of which have special rewards. should everyone on the fow/uw/doa record team have a special minipet? what about all the challenge missions?

That's hardly flaming. But there is really no need to reward the top 100 more then they were already rewarded, plenty of competitive missions in the game reward nothing more then having accomplished the ranking. Congrats, but be happy with what we were all given, a new event in game.

at least this one wasn't exploitable like RBR was...oh wait.

It just blatantly smacks of qq now, if it wasn't obvious before.

It's obvious that there wasn't any reward:
- the ladder consisted of same players , each same team appearing 20 times or more
- it wasn't announced, so maybe then there would have been more people who would have played for the sake of the reward and ladder would have changed
- several players inside the ladder were found abusing an exploit( not referring to 1750+ scores)
- come on, the reward for this was way better than RBR, plus it was less frustrating and you had ectoplasms...

My piece of cent is that there are way too much stuff like " let's play this only for the sake of making profit from the reward".. There used to be quests or games where people did something only to have a cool weapon, to keep something for collection, etc.... How many players would have just instantly went kamadan and spam " WTS xxx miniature 500e" for example.... The same kind of joke happened in RBR( although RBR is kind of PvP, not PvE like this..., so it deserved a reward maybe) and that's why it doesn't appear here...

There is no issue. It's a "Challenge Mission" do it for your own personal challenge isn't that reward enough.
