What was all your favorite things when you all started out playing Guild wars? And what ended out being your favorite thing?
Starting: I found that grouping up was a major aspect of the game. No one would want to solo yet, people were very engaging, and were full of life, especially with making new friends, PuGs with limited preferences.
Ending: The use of heroes helped me so much, i remember at the beginning of the game, henchmen were quite popular but a pain in the a**. now heroes being extremely customizable, life is so much easier. I do have to say though, it was quite hard learning how to properly use my heroes and setting up their builds but like all things, i adapted.
Guild Wars 2 is definately going to open up a lot of new experiences, i'm rather scared of not being able to adapt too well, but thats only me I guess haha :/

Favorite things when first starting GW?
The Ft. Ranick mission - still fun after all these years
Pre-Searing - A lively, interesting community with lots of very "Wow!" worthy scenery.
Lots of guildies & friends running around having all kinds of fun.
Favorite things now:
Ft. Ranick mission is still fun- running down into the charr camps and wreaking havoc with my Warrior - good times!
Zaishen Missions/Bounties/Vanquishes - gives me a reason to keep playing.
Guildies & friends starting to get back into GW preparing for GW2

Nowadays, 7 heroes are my favorite thing. I've always played solo because of my wife and kids situation and it's so nice to be able to fully tailor my entire team's build and equipment.
Start: Pugging in Prophecies days, selling low-end FDS for little profit, running rampant with an infinite minion army (with Golem as the mini-boss)
Middle: Trading...trading..and more trading, altoholic, mastering all professions, developing next-gen hero teams, destroying PvE HM content, multiple GWAMMs
Now: RA, FA and occasional HA

I still have my screen of this, my favorite nonsensical combo for the game. I still have them as well, tucked away for safe keeping.
My favorite aspect of the game originally was the people. I loved going out with my guild and doing FoW, or whatever our choice of action was at that point in time. The people are what originally made this game for me.
Sadly, most of the people I played with in the first year are no longer playing (thought not surprising), so a lot of that original nostalgia and magic is lost, especially with the introduction of 7 hero teams, a lot of incentive is gone for grouping with other individuals when you know your heroes can get the job done just as well, if not better, for things like the bounties and stuff.
Still, I like to adventure with some old friends now and then and just goof off and have fun, because really, that's what playing a game is all about.
